OK, just too make matters a little more confusing:

I plan to get the V-series lower grill for my passion red, paint it black, and live without the ACC.

Here is where it get's confusing: I would also like to outline the grill with the chrome piping seen on the 09-XLR.

Does anyone know if both mods will fit together?

Thanks

XLR I FL,

I should be able to let you know soon.

I'm having a difficult time getting used to the ACC anyway. It seems to me that it slows the car down too much when activated. I do a great deal of driving on the NJ Turnpike and don't like slowing down when a trucker is coming up on me!

When I first started using the ACC I was real frustrated with it. But if you use the Gap switch on the left side of the steering wheel AND get used to (in my case) bad driving habits where I was following too close, it seems to work real well.

I do agree that when you have it on for awhile in traffic and the alarm and brakes go on suddenly it startles you.

Ezlivin, my experience is that in heavy traffic like you are experienceing in NJ the ACC can be frustrating. It slams on the brakes when others duck in front of you as they do in the Philly/NJ area. And, even with is set for the shortest gap, it still leaves plenty of room for the 'traffic weavers' to cut in front of you at Turnpike speeds. I usually use in in lighter traffic and shut in off so I can run with the flow in heavy traffic. If I don't I find myself fighting with the ACC to run a steady speed.

Thanks for the info. So THAT was what I heard the other day! I need to stop making excuses for being so busy and read the ENTIRE owners manual.

I agree, when I go to OC Maryland on route 1 I encounter much better traffic patterns. It's the Delaware troopers that I have to worry about.

The only thing I like about NJTP is that after exit 10 South it's like one long straightaway. If the traffic's right, I put my cruise at 79 and the cops never bother me. Now if I get radar....

....Detector you won't pay the now REALLY EXPENSIVE tickets.

CURIOUSITY--Does the NJTP do what the FL Turnpike does.... Calculate where you got on and the time with the time and where you exit to see how long and what mph it took you to get there...then a ticket???
