My favorite is the 5 points it lost for not having backseat! (who said a backseat is important?) Also, why are they compaing to a Porsche which is not this category at all (if so where the vette?)

Regardless, they basically said they liked the car but not the price.

#5 out of 5 is not good

I own two of the cars in the test (the caddy and the jag) These two cars are totally different and what car mags never do is show you how they are different as opposed to one better than the other. The Caddy at #5????? How??? It's the fastest car in the bunch so if that's what you are looking for you would rank it first.

Now the Jag came in third, but to me, it has the best ride of the bunch and just incredible road presence, but it aint all that fast so where do you put it?

I've had MB's and I had a Porcshe Cayman S, bottom line is this. One day I want that caddy ride and brute acceleration, the next day I might want the chill but seductive ride of the Jag but I could never pick one over the other.

One more thing, I pass at least 20-30 SL500/SL55amgs every day so where's the exclusivity? That, to me is half the allure of car ownership. I should be the only XLR-V in the parking lot, side of the freeway, or anywhere I go. So far I have been, there's not alot of other car owners that can say that. (the Jag's not bad either, but I have over 10,000 miles on the XLR-V)

BMW - What the effing hey anyway?

I'm wondering why the 6 Seres BMW is beng compared with this crowd?

The reality is that C&D does not like the $100K price tag. If this car stickered at $85-90K, it wins hands down.

Once again, the automotive pundits at Car & Driver have found alot to criticize with a Cadillac:flag ! Obviously, they value style very little, and show there bias in their rankings!
Check it out at:

Greetings Loveldos,

I read the article and in my opinion the #1 XLR-V, #2 SL550, #3 XK, #4 911 and #5 645. Based on their categories I would have different rankings, specifically the more subjective one, such as styling exterior/interior are both 10 in my book for the XLR.
