So I lock my XLR with the convertible top down. Walk away and leave the remote 50 feet away.

Good thing: the doors won't open, even if you hit the unlock button.
Bad thing: the trunk release and gas release (below left of the steering wheel) both operate the trunk.

What would stop someone from jumping in and popping the trunk? What kind of alarms would you recommend for the car? I thought we had an included perimeter alarm stock from the factory.

there is no perimeter alarm. the export models have a intrusion sensor, but I believe it only opperates with the top up, Hans can explain that.
If you use the valet switch in the glove box and then lock the box, the trunk button will not work

I was going to post this question when I saw the other post. With the top down you can lock the glove compartment, which I guess (I don't own one), has the trunk lock-out switch, I hope. BUT, do the CD/NAV ejection mechanisms cut-off as well? On my CTS, they operate even if the engine is off & no key in the ignition, meaning, that anyone can remove a CD or NAV DVD disc! Any difference on XLR?
