I was wondering if anone else would be interest in setting up a graph /database here in the appropriate section where ONLY MEMBERS could list and access trade and sales prices so we can track the actual trends in the market by model.

MONTH SOLD/TRADED MODEL YEAR TRADE $ SALES $

NO OTHER INFORMATION

Just a thought.

2006 Lease price, Florida.

Good Idea. I just leased a 2006 through GMAC. 10k miles per year, 27 months, $3500 out of pocket up front including taxes in FL. $819.00 per month. I shopped around alot to get the price. I have gotten prices that were hundreds of dollars more per month, so I feel this must have been a good deal. Infrared with Cashmeire..

Wow!

Wow, that sounds too good to be true!:confused

What's your Salesman's name and number--I'm happy to drive from FLA to NY in the new V that I hope to lease in 21 months when my 04' lease expires!

From your numbers, it sounds like it will be cheaper to get the V than it was to get the 04' XLR!

Do you know the sales price and residual values that they used?

I just saw this on another site:
2006 XLR $699 Mo $73,975
Cadillac XLR Low Fleet Prices Pmts Nationwide Delivery 888-861-8080

Don't know the details but they appear to be a buying service, www.fleetrates.com

As far as creating a database, have your friendly banker or dealer friend pull up the Manheim Black Book prices for you. When I was shopping in in February '05's with under 5000 miles were going for 47,000 to 52,000 at auctions in the southwest. :nodno

Unfortunately, www.fleetrates.com requires 10% down payment with LONG term obligations. Not through GMAC either, so it is sort of risky.

I used a guy who buys direct from GM and sells to the public. His email is [email protected] and his name was Jan. Pronounced "Yon".. He even arranged for delivery right to my doorstep, literally. It was an awesome and smooth transaction. I will be getting a new Escalade from him within the next couple of months..

Good Luck.

Oh, and to clarify, my 06 XLR is NOT a "V"...

Oh, and to clarify further... I registered the car in FLORIDA. I live in both New York and Florida. The car was delivered to my home in New York and I arranged for the plates and insurance in Florida.

Apparently, the deal was not applicable in NY, that is why I had to use my Florida address.

I did mine the old fashioned way. Did the Gmac smart buy which means you are really only paying for half the car until you decide to keep it forever or do the next big thing. $1300 a month with $5000 down but at 24 months I can bounce right out. Already have 8000 miles on the car( 2006 XLR-V)

Hello again. I recently posted my lease info on here for my 06 Infrared/Cashmiere XLR. As some of you noted, I did luck out with a ridiculously low payment.

The lease is a 27 month lease, 10k/year at a total of $818.23 per month including FL tax. I am only 2 months into the lease and unfortunately am going through an unexpected divorce.. I might have to part with this once in a lifetime dream car of mine. I am not going to be advertising it as of yet, but wanted to give the heads up if anyone might be interested in a GMAC lease assumption. Car has approx. 850 miles on it and stays in the garage all the time covered.

I would be asking for $2500.00 up front and then you can assume the lease through GMAC once approved (credit).

Just a heads up for any interested parties...

Regretfully,

Chris

Now that sounds like an "Owie" in the making! Divorce. You have my sympathy.

With regard to trying to pull "equity" from a lease, that probably won't happen. Normally, when someone assumes your lease, you have to pay them. The reason? The person assuming you lease is getting a "used" car, and the value of your car today is several thousand dollars less than when you bought it. Check out: http://www.leasetrade.com/

And some (in fact, many) leases are not assumable or transferable. You need to check that out first.

Registering in Fla but living in NY? Interesting. We have a house in the mountains near Asheville NC, but my homestead is in Texas. I know sales tax and insurance is higher in Texas - maybe I should consider buying and registering my vehicle in NC. Hmmmm...

Do you see any difference in the service experience when you take your vehicle to a dealership where you didn't buy it?

The service at my local dealer has been incredible. Only there once for a check engince light which happened to be my gas cap needing to be tighter (duh)...

I have checked out the leasetrader and swapalease sites. In many cases, in the comment section, the owner can either offer an incentive or ask for a downpayment to offset the lower payment that the new owner is getting as well as to recoup some of their loses. In this case, I know from alot of research that you cannot get a price of $800/month anywhere for an XLR with under 1000
miles on it.

I checked with GMAC. Their leases are fully transferrable with a $595.00 aquisition fee.

In all, $2500.00 out of pocket and $800.00/month for a short term obligation is a good deal for most people not looking to be stuck for 48 or 63 month leases.. Especially when this same vehicle leases for closer to $1000 per month on long term leases.

Thanks again for your support.
