I see more than my share of SL500's on flatbeds headed for the dealers here in Southern California. At least we drive our cars to the dealers for repairs.

I REALLY want to go purchase one, but I'm leaning more to a Mercedes SL500...but regardless which car I'm considering other than XLR, I would love to hear if any people out there have actually had NO PROBLEMS since purchasing, such as how long since bought, how many miles, and driving style ect. Please help me understand what I'm looking at should I go ahead with the XLR.
Thank You to all who respond

Cadillac's XLR is one of the best luxury performance roadsters on the planet. I purchased a 2005 XLR a little over a year ago and I would say it is one of the best sports cars I have ever owned. If you are considering buying a XLR, based on my experience, I would not hesitate to purchase one.
I chose the XLR over Mercedes-Benz's SL500, Maserati's Spyder, Lexus SC430, Jaguar XK(previous model, not the new XK), Porsche 911 Cabriolet and Chevrolet Corvette. Any of these cars would be welcome in my garage. But one must take first position. For my requirements the styling of XLR's exterior/interior is breathtaking. Its performance is right on and features are plentiful. But the hard top convertible became one of the key features that made my task so much easier. The final comparison came between Cadillac's XLR and Mercedes-Benz's SL500. From a style perspective the XLR won over the SL500. The XLR exterior design is exotic, with lines that exemplify a modern unique style, simply beautiful. The interior of the XLR is as contemporary as its exterior, simple elegance, again beautiful.
I must say it would be hard to consider another luxury roadster after living with the XLR. I still go out into my garage just to look at the XLR. Well, the best to you and your decision.
