I am in the same position - we don't care for the plexi windbaffles or the price. We had a 2000 BMW Z3 Roadster - it had a very nice fabric windscreen that worked quite well. It fit over the 'hoops' and had a zippered center section - zipper up for top down driving, zipper down (center section collapsed) for top up driving. I have done preliminary checking on the BMW site, but I have not been able to find dimensions on the fabric screens - my wife and I are not too proud to use a BMW (no badging) windscreen on our XLR. I'm an engineer and I tried to make a fabric wind screen using fabric screeening material purchased at the local home improvement store (Lowes), unfortunately I'm not much at sewing, glueing or melting and I have no patience. If Cadillac can procduce such a marvelous vehicle, you would think they could produce an affordable fabric windscreen. By the way I posted a similar request on this site a couple of months ago and got no where real fast. Maybe if enough of us express a need, Cadillac or some other ingenious company may deliver.
Best of luck

I believe the Cadillac position is that the aerodynamics of the XLR are such that it doesn't need a windscreen and a windscreen would change the aerodynamics. With that said, I have a WindBaffle... The only thing I don;t like about it is that you see reflections in it, which has caused me to do double-takes to make sure I can proceed without hitting anyone.

After I get mine back from the body shop for $10,000 dollars worth of front end repairs, I'm also taking my windbaffle off. I think it cheapens the look of the car and doesn't do a damn thing to stop the wind. The best advise I got was to turn the blower on full which keeps the wind from blasting me. Also putting up the side windows help.

I find the damm thing is not worth a damm. I traded XLR's and needed a different color of straps. guess the price? $30.00 plus $10.00 shipping. what a waste. :banghead :jester :flag

Now that is funny! You newcomers will have to chase down some old threads to appreciate just how witty 1_XLR truly is.

standby - sorry to hear of your misfortune. How did it happen?

If you measure wind velocity with and without the Windbaffle you will see a drop in backdraft from 25mph to under 8 mph windows down and under 2mph with windows up @ 60 mph.

As for reflection, if you remove the bottom edging strip and use the mounting behind the rollbars you can minimize this. Also the WB is nearly invisible with the edging off.

The SLK350 and SLK55 & F430 are the latest to switch to our system instead of the mesh which is shadowy to look through at night and looks like you wife/girlfriend"s used stockings IMO.

Enjoy the summer, Bob :flag

Well, I sure glad you all got a laugh out of this one NO,I wasn't testing the ACC.

Actually, just tooling along in stop and go traffic in Laguna Beach and this big old Dodge people Van with the massive chrome bumper stopped when I turned my head for a second. NO, I wasn't drinking and no I wasn't looking at a thong, just dumb stupid luck.
Sure glad I was able to give you guys something to talk about

Hey standby, I did the same with my vette. didn't even have a WB on it. the guy in front of me just wasn't paying attention, he should have known I was behind him and was not paying attention to my driveing. insurance company thought it was my fault. :jester :banghead :flag :flag . still no new WB straps after a week. guess I'll just discard it and drive to New Orleans with out it and use the fan full blast to blow the wind out. :jester

Ya know, you would think the stupid people in big vans with steel bumpers would know I'm in back of them not paying attention. I just wish I knew what in the hell I was doing..........never even had time to hit the break, wish I had my ACC on, it would have made all kinds of noise.

When you did yours in, where you looking at the people watching you and saying Groooooooooovy dude?
