I have 2 Vipers and bought my wife an XLR because she kept saying "how come you get all the fun cars and I get the minivan?" But, now I am the one who has 300 of the 400 miles on the XLR. What a neat car! I think it is the first sign of old age--I would rather be comfortable tooling around listening to Sinatra with a1000 gadgets than bump and grind with 525HP listening to Van Halen.

And, it is the ONLY car I have had that gets near the attention of the Vipers. I had one of the first C6 Vettes in town and the car it never got a second look. Everyone looks at the XLR and asks about it. I bought it as a Valentine's present and never thought I would be interested in it--I was wrong.

Hi, my Vettes got here in Germany many second looks too but the XLR I`ve got right now is the biggest eye catcher and funniest is, here most don`t know what make this car is. When I tell the people what it is, they say Oh, that`s a Cadillac:thumbs

Harry: I represent some German companies--mostly in Stugart. They love Caddys--especially the old models.
so do I:yesnod but also the new ones! These new V`s off Cadillac, I´m talking about the STS V and XLR V can NOW compete to anything on market

Are these car-companies you represent? If yes, well Stuttgart got Merc. and Porsche!

Have a nice day

There's a lot of younger guys driving XLRs listening to "cooler" music than Sinatra so don't fight it!:thumbs

Van Halen works in the XLR! I know what you are talking about. I had an 04 GTO that was the best built GM vehicle I've ever owned but I missed the comfort and gadgets of the previous Caddies and Lincolns.

That 04 GTO you owned that was so great had 8 years in Australia under another name to get the bugs out of it. XLR's have only two years under their belt.

But materials selection isn't an 8 year process. The Catera actually had pretty good interior plastics as well. The plastics they are using for the dash on the new DTS and Escalade just amaze me, as much as the magazines harp on GM plastics they still can't seem to get it right. The leather on the Catera and GTO were also better than and of the US built Caddies I've had. The 99 Eldo and 02 STS were using some of the same hard plastic parts that were in my 86 Toronado.
