So, in a stupid error, I grinded my XLR-V wheel on a curb while parking.

:(

This is from my cameraphone:

Does anyone know if this can be repaired? Or do I just need to bite the bullet and order a replacement wheel?

On that note, anyone know the part #? And are the front and rear wheels the same size?

Thanks!

A couple of years ago, my son bought a three year old Corvette Z-06 from a Chevy dealer. All four wheels were scuffed like yours and when my son hesitated on the sale, the dealer said that they had a guy that traveled to dealers in the area making wheel repairs and they would get them fixed. I was absolutely amazed. You couldn't see the areas where the wheels had been repaired. Some of the scuffs actually had metal scratched away and I couldn't believe that he had been able to repair them.

I don't have any other info. I just wanted to let you know that there are obviously people out there that can make these fixes. Ask one of the larger dealers in your area. With the cost of those wheels, it's sure worth a try.

Sir

Since your query was made have you found a parson to make the wheel repairs.

My wife did the same thing and I am loking for a similar repair.

No I haven't... I've kinda learned to just live with it - its amazing how many cars I see with damaged rims that I kinda stopped caring...

But my understanding is that Discount Tire can fix them without too much trouble...
