Welcome to the XLR Forum!!

You are on the right track. Be sure to get a car with a warranty Cadillac Certified or GMPP. The price range you are in is reasonable for a "Excellent Condition" car with low mileage.

Please remember to carefully check the brakes, rotors and tires. Replacement of these items at the approximate mileage you are looking at is about $2k to $2.5K.

Also good Carfax and a GM/Cadillac Service history reports are manditory.

GOOD HUNTING!!!!

My new baby.

I picked her up in Akron on Saturday morning and drove her home to Maryland all day. She loves to run, but is comfortable all day long! I love it. I can't believe i have such an amazing car.

One question, is there a copy of the user's manual online? or where would be the best place to get one? ebay? There are a few minor things about the car that i haven't figured out yet.

The responses so far seem to fall into the categories of "sweet ride!", "that's a cadillac?", and "looks like the batmobile". :)

From the selling dealer. They should be more than pleased to get you one.

There is a 2007 Owners manual on line in the Technical Section if it is more convenient.

Good Cruising!!!

Where can I find the color code number for my XLR ?

I just bought a 2005 XLR that is black. I looked on both doors, glove compartment, under the hood, in the trunk and haven't found a sticker showing the exterior color code number to buy touch up paint. I have a photo copy of the owners manual which doesn't contain it. Can someone tell me where to find it on the car ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Everyone. Jim's the name and I'm a new member. I've never done this before so I hope I'm doing it right - sorry if not. I have a 2005 XLR that I purchased in August 2009. Great car and it only had 13,000 miles on it! Whoever had it last nicked-up a few of the interir parts on the driver's side. Any suggestions on finding interior parts? Salvage if possible. Thanks. Also, your discussion on faulty gas caps has already helped me. Thanks again.

Hi Jim,

Congrats and welcome to the forum. For new parts at a discount try: allgmparts.net/xlr.html. For used parts you might try www.cadillacking.com, although I was not able to get there website to work today. I'm not sure if King has XLR parts, but they specialize in used Cadillac parts, including Allante. If you are unable to contact them through their website, please let me know as I can get a phone number for them as well.

You may also want to try:

Auto Pride Concepts www.autoprideconcepts.com

I had a good experience with them and bought a XLR V hat and T-shirt which are good quality items.

CC, one of our very knowledgable members here has been suggesting that you carefully check the connections under the seats before embarking on anythng more complicated.

all! Hogster here. New to the forums and while I don't actually own an XLR, I have worked on plenty of them. I'm a Cadillac master technician (electrical and engine repair... still working on the others) with XLR training. I was turned on to this site by a customer having problems with his folding top. He printed off a couple of threads to "help" me in my diagnosis. I didn't take offense. LOL.
I was pleasantly surprised to see several owners were familiar with not only the cars, but with the protocol for GM service issues.

I joined because I've recently inherited a Northstar 4.6 with a broken block (the boss where the idler pulley retaining bolt goes has broken) and I think I can have it repaired. I'd like to install it into a project vehicle I've had since I started driving. It's an old Nissan truck. I was hoping someone here could direct me to a place where I could have a PCM custom programmed to eliminate any codes that might set as a result of being a stand alone unit. I don't have a transmission yet and of course, I won't be using any of the other modules from the XLR and still want the engine to perform at it's peak. Any hints on where to start?
