Wake Up!!!

Man this place seems dead. I had an 05 XLR, sold it and got off site for awhile. I now have a V and this site is just seeming so sluggish--no energy. Remember despite what some of the car mags say , you are privileged to own the greatest car GM has built to date-- enjoy it--talk about it.

I am lucky enough to be able to afford an M5, SL, etc, but I stuck with Caddy, because it is more exotic, sharper design, lower production, great HP and AMERICAN. And people here bitch less about the car than they do on the Mercedes, Bimmer sites. etc

30 yrs from now when an XLR crosses the line at Barrett Jackson, your kids will say "damn , dad had one of those."

I agree with caddiedrummer. Where the heck are all the XLR owners out there? If you go to any of the numerous Corvette sites there is a constant flow of information about the owners, their vehicles, upgrade ideas, etc., etc.

This is particularly true for the V forum. It is such an exciting vehicle, how can the owners be so sleepy?
Quiet

Certainly not the case on the SSR Forum. I have had my SSR 2 years tomorrow. Have thought about going to an XLR,but, may hold for the new G35 Coupe to be released in April. I had the G sedan for 3 years.
Folkz,

I don't want to fan the fire or throw stones at anyone ... This is just a casual observation. Perhapz there is a problem with the forum software ... Let me explain. When I registered (late October), there was a considerable delay before I was able to post. I sent several emails to various admin before that was solved (not sure who actually took action). Currently, I'm still not fully registered ... Thought I can now post, I have no inbox nor permission to send a PM. There has been no admin response to my post in the HELP section.

Looking at the bottom of the main page, I see the stats indicate membership = 1,371 ... But when I observe the Membership List, the number is only 504. Is it possible there are many people registered that can't post or PM? Maybe they leave in frustration.

Although I've only been around a month, there seemz to be few "new" members posting. Without an active admin on the forum, it may lead to several problemz ... Perhaps they are manifesting now.

Troy?????????
Are you hearing these new members.
I write to Troy and never get an answer. Reminds me a little of when I contact GM with a problem.
In all fairness I've answered some new members and haven't received one response from any of you, so what's up with that? If your going to beoch about http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZS negative response, you must be one of those that are not responding too.
When we have problems with our machines we are going strong on this site, but lots of problems have been solved and we are out enjoying our rides rather than beotching here.
When you have a problem, just ask, someone will help. I made many responses to the person that couldn't get his PM working and he never said thanks, kiss my rose red [email protected]#% or anything, so why should we help?
This is called fanning the fire. We all have that right.

Happy turkey day

standby- Are you upset with me? I was a recent person having trouble with my PM and you attempted to assist. (See this post http://www.xlrforum.com/showthread.php?t=1691) On three occasions in that thread, I expressed my appreciation to you for helping. If that was not enough, I'm very sorry.

I can see where you might think it was you, but there was another person having similar problems whose post was nested in another topic. I would love to post it but I can't find it............Sorry
Many times we get off center when talking about something and quotes are very hard to find.
I am just so concerned that some people who have just bought an XLR or joined the site are troubled with lack of interest.
It's near the holidays and most are doing other things. There are times that this forum is loaded with question and help, but right now, it's a little slow.
Some people are upset at GM for their outrageous pricing of the V. At the time most of us put down a few $$'s, we where told the cost was $100,000. That's tough to swallow when their damn near giving them away now.
That vehicle will never sell for that price again, do to lack of interest, but what buyers don't know is, this vehicle is a beast and an angel at the same time. I call it a gorilla in a tuxedo, which I think apply describes this marvelous car.
My complaints as to what GM should have offered as either an option or standard.

Some good sports car colors ( we are offered old people colors)

Backup camera (found on some cheap Chrysler products)

Heated and cooled cup holders (same as above)

Same size tires all around (this is tough when something happens to tires or rims, as it did me). I now have 20's with no run flats, but I do have On Star if something happens to my tires.:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead

Ciao,
That's a good question concerning the members. Wish I had an answer. Wish the ghost (Troy Roberts) would answer that one, actually I'd love it if he answered any question.

Whew ... Glad it wasn't me, but itz upsetting to know there are indeed others with similar problems. One can't be sure, but it seemz to indicate the registration problem is widespread.

Sportier colors and heated/cooled cupholders , back-up cameras--?? seems like a combination sports/old man's car. Same size tires all around?? huh, there is good reason to have those babies on the rear.

Mr. Caddie salesman,
If I didn't know better, I think someone just played the old man card on me, but that's OK.
That's exactly what this car is. "Combination sports/old man's car". The colors are a personal thing.
Actually, cooled cup holders would be just fine for the old guy, the warm cup holders where for you young guys coffee, to get you going in the morning, and any dummy could use backup cameras.
My Pirelli Roso P255/35/20's are a fraction thinner than the original rear run flats, and I lost the run flats. The front tracks a little harder, but I can deal with that.
