I have tried every thing the manual instructs, no matter what I say, if I say anything at all. When I press the voice command button the system response: "The system does not recognize this command, please rephrase your command." I have reinserted the dvd, and everything else I could find in old post in this forum. Any suggestions?

I THINK there is a volume knob for the microphone in the car. I BELIEVE it uses the same microphone as Onstar and the Personal Calling. If you have issues with those other features, you may need to have your dealer up the volume on the mic. I don't know where it is located, but I THINK I remember seeing it on some wiring diagram for the XLR once upon a time.....

It's also impossible for the car to recognize anything with the top down at highway speeds....... Heck, I have a hard time with it in the driveway!

PS I has a 2005 STS (the newer style); the car and I were NOT on speaking terms, since it didn't understand a thing I said!

Showsoff,

Sorry, just pulling your chain about hitting "1".

Homegameroom has a very good point about there being virtually no ambient noise when giving a command. The "little woman" inside as a very low tolerance for anything but your sweet voice.
