V-Series Performance Driving Academy

V-Series DrivingAcademy
I just wanted to let every one know that I will be spending a few days at the V Performance Academy next week, I will post my experiences with all the vehicles and how the operation runs. This should be a great 2 day driving school and less costly than some of the other schools offered by BMW and others.

I will be going to the shakedown that will mimic the trip prior to it being offered to owners. Each day will be divided between classroom activities and driving the course.

V-Series Performance Driving Academy

For many reasons including insurance and the safety of each owners vehicle, all the V-Series cars will be supplied by Cadillac. V-Series owners will receive an announcement regarding the academy in the late summer, but the V-Series driving school is available and open to everyone.

Allen, that`s a very good idea, we have this here in Germany for Corvettes and it`s called "Corvette Performance Training". I`ve made this training 3 times with the Vette`s I`ve had and one time with my XLR. It was the only XLR between this Vette`s but you can bet I did pretty good.

V-Series Performance Driving Academy

Well, the first day at the V Performance Driving Academy, is in the books. I will soon post many many photos of CTS-V, STS-V & of course the XLR-V. Today started at 7:30 am.

Today we did wet and very slick Skid Pad driving, 180 spin outs, slalom driving, autocross, braking, and brake & steering for over 8 hours. over 30 V-Series vehicles. The professional instructors are incredible.

Today was the instruction for tomorrow, full road course to drive on for another 8 hours. I put the XLR-V through multiple driving scenerios, the best handling of the 3 vehicles.

More to follow

V Performance Driving Academy

Well, I returned home in one piece from the V Performance Driving Academy. There were 23 people I was with from the Director of Sales for Cadillac, XLR Marketing Manager and other invited guests for 2 1/2 days of classroom activities, accident avoidence driving, Auto cross driving, braking, slalom, skid pad (Awesome) and of course the 2 1/2 mile Atlanta Raceway - Road Atlanta Course.

From the time of arrival at the airport, we were escorted to the resort by Cadillac ESVs. The resort the Chateau Elan was incredible, I wish I took additional time to better enjoy the amenities they had to offer.

A reception hosted by Cadillac was a nice touch to start things off giving the small group the ability to get to know one another. Since we had to be in the lobby at 7:30 am most headed back, but some were destined to look green in the morning. When we arrived back in our rooms, a nice and very useful gift was awaiting, thanking us for coming.

In the morning the ESVs were ready to transport us to and around the tracks various venues for almost 8 plus hours. We were divided in to groups or 8 with two professional drivers per group, and given a second gift.

After the ESVs transported us back to the Chateau, we had a couple of hours to rest and get ready for the Winery tour. There we learned details and processes of wine making. We capped off the tour with a wine tasting get together. Following that we had a fantastic dinner in the Caskroom of the winery.

The second day was jam packed as the first and most were chomping at the bit to get back to the tracks. I could go on for hours, but I took lots of photos and videos that I will post shortly.

This exclusive trip will mimic the trip available to whom ever wants to go.
I quicky posted one video for all to see, take a look and post your comments.
