Hi,
today my E&G mesh grille arrived and this thing looks fantastic. It`s solid mesh.

Here`s the problem, I tried to remove my stock grille and the four srews above the grille was OK but than, does anybody know how to get the grille out of these clambs of the bottom of the grille? There`s about 8 clambs - just cannot remove the grille out of there.
One bad thing, manual instructions wasn`t included.

Maybe somone can help

those clamps should pull right out, careful not to break them so you can reuse.

Here's something I always wondered about though........:rolleyes

the stock grille is actually a solid piece of plastic that allows NO air flow:nodno
and the mesh grille is.... well mesh, allowing a free flow of air.:yesnod
Why did GM do this if the car is starved for cool air?:skep
Can the excessive air effect engine proformance?:mad
Does the engine compartment act as a frontal parachute?:banghead
Will high speed Harry run the risk of blowing the hood off????:eek

I am no engineer, but from my little racing knowledge I know that you want the air to go up and over the car smoothly as possible. I would bet the standard grill is designed to do that the best as well as be quiter when the roof is up.

xlr23, yes, I´ll post some pics if I ever get my stock grille out. lol
I guess I let my dealership doing this but it`s snowing right now and hope to get it done by next week.

Hi 1_XLR,
the stock grille has a little of air flow but I think my new mesh grille wont open my hood when doing 150 or 160 mph on the autobahn.
If you take a look at chrysler`s 300 c, it has a very open stock grille and this grille is real big. There is much air flow on this!
But as you know, when my mesh is in I´ll take it for a high speed run on the autobahn and let you know.
did you had your new V in the higher speed regions already?????
I know 1_XLR loves it too to let his baby run.:lol

I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
I had the Strut mesh grill on my XLR and never a problem,
I just always wondered if it was counter-productive,
and technically it probably is.....but it sure looks a lot better than stock!
