It could be many things, but it will most always be just One Thing.
These vehicles can have a mind of their own if the battery is low. Rule this out first.
Start with the easy stuff --the trunk lid release switch by the knee bolster --for one. It doesn't require a fob in close proximity to operate ---unlike the rear release switch. It may be sticking and intermittently making contact, aggravated by heat, who knows? I'e seen plenty of weird things while troubleshooting. Lightly tap the area around the switch to see if anything happens. . . Then tap harder.
You can disconnect the switch to see if the problem goes away too. Intermittents are a PITA to troubleshoot. Report back with more symptoms as they reveal themselves to you.
