I'm having a problem with my '05 XLR in that when I attempt to put the top down, the trunk lid opens and appears to open completely but the next step in the top down sequence doesn't happen. So, I can't be a convertible anymore. My guess is that there is a switch or potentiometer that tells the car when the trunk lid is up and this is out of adjustment so the car never gets a trunk lid open signal but I don't know that for sure. Anyone know where I should look? The dealer is 30 miles away and if I can fix this myself, it'll save me a trip.

When this occasionally happens to me, I push or tap the section that last moved in order for it to contact whatever switch or sensor necessary to activate the next stage. This has been successful so far.(It happened again yesterday)
