Transmission and Dash Light

I have two problems (concerns), above and beyond the dimmer switch control does anyone know how to make the dash lights brighter? When the vehicle has been sitting and it is very cold outside there is a slight (but significant) hesitation when switching from reverse to drive before it actually kicks in, any suggestions?

Light

I thought there was a little button on the side of the dash that adjusted the brightness. Haven't done it is a while, I'll have to check when I get in again.

Its 28 here in DC this morning, haven't had similar issue with shifting. But, then I park in garage at home and work.

I occasionally have that same hesitation in the morning (on those rare Houston cool mornings). I haven't had anything done since it goes away almost right away.

The dimmer switch controls both the HUD and the dashboard lighting. There is a toggle switch near the brightness up/down keys to change between HUD and dashboard. I've found it is more than bright enough under normal conditions. Are you finding the dashboard to be too dim or too bright?

Is there anything else above and beyond the dimmer button that would increase the brightness on the dash lights?

The answer to your question is "no". The reason for my confusion with your original question is that the dash gets very bright when the dimmer is all the way up, so I'm wondering if something is wrong (non-installed light or something) with the dash lights.

The only other thing I can think to do would be to replace the bulbs with brighter ones (definately not under warranty).

Thanksfor your response, I intend to take the car to the dealer and see if they can address the problem. Once again, thanks!

Sensor

Isn't there also a light sensor that adjust dash brightness for ambient light.

If this is not working correctly, then it would never detect that is is sunlight and allow the brightness to be higher.

Just a thought.
