They can't do it at the tire store, they will have to take it to Cadillac for that special tool to be waved over it. You will have to listen to the warning buzzer that thinks your tires are flat.

Bob,
that seems to get a little problem if a special tool is needed but I´ll see tomorrow.

Thanks
Harry

Is there no way to do it without this special tool?

Harry,
that "special tool" is a standard magnet. I used the back off an old speaker, but any decent magnet wiil work.

Here's the proceedure:
Turn the car on ACC power.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the FOB for about 10 seconds, until the horn sounds. This puts it in reset mode.
Hold the magnet over the valve stem of the LEFT FRONT wheel, until the horn sounds.
Repeat at the RIGHT FRONT, horn will sound, RIGHT REAR, horn will sound, and last the LEFT REAR, horn will sound TWICE if all done correct.

That's it....you're done!

one other thing....you're on a time limit....I think it's about 10 seconds to get from wheel to wheel

Hi Mike,
I`ve tried it again today with a strong magnet but it doesn`t work.

If acc is ON - holding lock and unlock button the horn sounds but when holding the magnet (within 3 sec from horn sound) over the valve stem I´ll get no horn sound.

Well, tire pressure on the new tires are good - lets see my Cadillac-dealer next week.

Have a nice weekend and thanks again

Hans, When I picked up my V, I was told that the magnet system had been changed. I will ask my service tech on Monday and get back to you. Tim

Tim, that`s very kind of you. I´ve heard of some people they reset it with a computer at a Cadillac dealership - I will wait what you can tell me about it.

Have a nice weekend
Hans

PS: mine is a 04 XLR, I just put the wheels and tires from the new V on mine. XLR V is not available as an export model before 2007.

Hey meister,
The TPM on your V wheels have not been changed and they are the same as the 04 models according to the computer at Allen's. The guy that put my new rims on could not set them and had to take the car over to Cadillac to get them set. BTW, they are making me a new set of 3 piece rims for my V and will give me 1" more depth on the front and back, that will give me two in front and three in the back. Any more and they will hit the calipers.

Yeah thats nice bob where are you getting the wheels from.

Adam,
I had them made in Newport Beach, CA and was very disappointed after having very deep dish rims on my 04, so they decided 5K was a lot of money and their customer wasn't very happy, so they are making 4 new ones that will be deeper, which will allow me to live with them. I'm almost tempted to put my 20" Foose rims on my V, but I have to give up my run flats and I don't want to give them up.

Today I´ve try it again on all four tires around but did not get any horn signal.

No trouble Mike, I let my dealer reset them this week.
