Hi my US friends, I need some help!

Or to say it better my Cadillac-dealership needs it.

I just came back from a reset of TPM-system and they reset it but now the tire symbol on the cluster lights up and the monitor shows

LF 72 - RF 144
LR 218 - RR 288

the pressure is absolutely correct.

Does anyone of you how to handle this?????

Thanks

Hans

Bob, my dealership is OK but they have to less experience on this system.
Mine is the first XLR they try to doing it but they will find out what`s wrong but this maybe takes 2 or 3 hours.
As you know, today in one week I´ll be on my way to LA and I think I´ll get it done after my return from the US.

No Bob, we don`t give your DM to the Nevada state police, we need it to go further. How about a speed limiter at 85 mph:glol

In all the years I visited the US I made about 20 to 30 K miles on the american highways and all I got was 1 ticket for speeding in the Dallas area when I was on a on-ramp to a highway, allowed was 30 mph - I drove 70 mph - that was it:thumbs

On the other hand in 2000 when I bought my DTS right out of the window at a Cadillac dealer in Naples/Fl after 3 days and 600 miles on I checked the speed limiter out - 132 mph (213 kph):lol

Don`t worry we`ll get to ABQ and back with your V.

I love to hit it on the on-ramps too! But in the V I'm usually well over 70 by the end:thumbs

did you get the TPM fixed?
Hi Mike, I believe you do a lot over 70 with your V, I`ve had a Deville when the caught me.

Well, they reset the TPM but now I get crazy numbers. My dealer got this special tool but I think they really don`t know how to handle it correct. Tire pressure is OK on all fours and I think I have it repaired after my return from the US.

TPM Reset

Hi Hans, Hope you had a great trip to the states. Before the TPM can be reset -- Within 10 to 15 minutes be for your service tech uses his reset tool , the vehicle must be driven at least 25 MPH , faster if you would like .This does somthing to each monitor inside the tire. Failure to do this will not let the TPM be reset correctly creating the problem you discribe. Have them give this a try. Tim.

Hi Tim, yes, my trip to the XLR Rendezvous was great but my TPM is still not done.

Later, this evening I get this tpm-tool from my dealer and I´ll try to reset them myself. I talked to some dealers in the US and they also have sometimes problems with the reset of the tpm-valves.

This evening I hope I can tell you "I`ve got it done"

After driving Bob`s V in the US I just can repeat it - the XLR V is a world-class-roadster - and you drive already one!!!!!

V rims not compatible on 04

Hi, after lots of trouble with my TPM valves I found out with help from Corvette forum that the 04 XLR PMS Computer is not compitable with the 06 V wheels.

The TPM system is the same on C6 Vette and XLR V but wont work on 04 model.

If someone of you get some V rims make sure you get the 04 TPM valves mounted to it or you will have the same problems as I had.

That's funny you post this and I found out the same thing at the dealer
yes Bob, if we would have knowing this before you could just use your TPM valves on your new rims and put on your V rims you`ve sended me the 04 valves - no problem than.

later most people get smarter:lol even the two Schultzes:glol

TPM Valves

As I found out the TPM valves of the 06 XLR V wheels wont match the 04 computer.

Today I have my car at the dealer to change the 06 valves to the 04 TPM`s.

I´ll pick it up today at 4 pm and hope anything works great then.

For anybody who wants to put the V wheels on his 04 XLR make sure to change the valves because they wont match the computer!!!!!!!
