There is a Cig ligther and cup holders but no ash trays or ash tray
When you received your XLR did yours had an ash tray inside the cup holder?

I have a 1990 ZR1 Vet and it has about the same center Console with cup holders etc. But inside one of the cup holders there is a metal ash tray that you can remove it to empty it.

Did somebody forget to add the Ash tray?

I don't have our XLR yet, but page 3-35 of the owners manual describes "Ashtrays and Cigarette Lighter" locations.

I have to admit it isn't something I've thought about before, so I'm not sure if the center console location described in the owner's manual is accurate.

Thank you for your answer. Found the article on the manual, But there is no Ash Tray inside the cup holder. like there is on the Vet.

They most have run out when the car was assembled. Will see the local Dealer Tomorow.

The guard Dog is Pepper his 12 yrs old, That makes him 84 in human terms. It makes me 10 yrs younger then he.

All new Cadillacs, (with the exception of the Deville/DHS/DTS) require the purchase of an optional "smoker's package" through your dealer. As a smoker myself, I feel your pain, but let all my customers know up front at the time they order their XLR (or CTS or SRX) that they'll need to order the pkg. if they want to smoke in the vehicle.

Call your salesperson, or the dealer's parts Dept.

Something around $40.00 or so.

Ash Trays

Here's a neat solution to the problem of No Ashtray in the XLR.

Walmart has a cup ashtray that fit in the console. It has a "puka"
(Hawaiaan for hole), in the center so you can shove your finished cigarette through it without ashes flying all around. Especially convenient when the top is down.

The lid unscrews so you can dump the butts and start over.

We bought these same ashtrays at Walgreens. They cost about $5 and they keep the ashes from blowing when you are driving with the top down.

I smoke also - but I have not used my ashtray in years. Its just as easy to use the window and keep the car cleaner...... Just my .02 ---

Just make sure you don't flick your ashes into an XLR owner who has the top down as you drive.

My thought, if you smoke, be couteous enough to take care of your own trash, and ashes.
