Iam looking for information on installing 2006 XLR V series wheels on my 04 XLR
Investigating tire sizes using the xlr v wheels (2006), it appears that installing tires FRONT 245/50-19 and REAR 285/35-19 are the choice which comes up most often. I also would like if RUNFLATS are used along with the manufacturer of the tires or do those people run non runflats. All information would grately be appreciated. Thanks Pilotcar

Anyone that is using 06 or 07-V rims are probably taking advantage of the use of run flats, especially if your on the road and away from home very often.
I have chosen to go to 20" custom rims on my 06-V and they are all one size in order to rotate, but had to give up my run flats. I'm generally not far from home so not having a spare is no big deal.

I have the V wheels on my 04 XLR but I have the standard V size tires on mine.
235/45 19 in front, 255/40 19 on rear. I got those wheels from Bob (standby on this forum) and I`m very happy with them because the whole car looks much better and even the ride qualitiy got better. I have Pirellis on them but no run flats, because they were not available here in Germany.

Here is one advise, the TPM of 06 wheels doesn`t match the 04 computer so you have to change them with 04 TPM-valves.

Final decesion on tires 2004 xlr

After research and information received from XLR owners I completed my installation on my XLR. Using 06-V wheels (19"x8.5) I selected Goodyear F1-GSD255/40-19 with the results of grat looks and aggresive tread pattern, able to rotatewhen I choose to do so and tested by CAR&DRIVER #1 in a comprehensive test progrm. Thanks to all who had input before I made my decision.
