I heard on CNN this morning that while they are lowering the MSRP, they don't expect the "transaction prices" (ie - what you actually pay) to change very much.

Mainly just a marketing ploy to make thing "look" better.

It's a supply/demand market - our local dealer just sold a 2006 Z06 for $10,000 over MSRP and the buyer was a happy camper.

With that said, the same dealer is down on sales across the board, so making an additional $10,000 on one car won't keep the lights on when you floor your own inventory and can't move it fast enough to keep up with the import dealer down the street whose sales are up 25%.
