:banghead the side of the door was rubbing again the front panel of the side panel and it was chipping away at the paint and body so i brought it in to cadillac and they sid they have never seen anything like this before so now they are going to have it for a couple of weeks since they have to do body work i was wondering if this has ever happend to anyone else thanks again :banghead

Jshaps, no your car was NOT hit!! That exact same thing was happening to my driver's side door. I didn't know what it was, but I also never tried to figure it out. My dealer noticed it a month ago, and they realigned it and painted the small chipped area free of charge. They said it was nothing I did and my car was not hit.

Velde Cadillac in North Pekin, Illinois has been wonderful to me.

My driver side door had the exect same problem. something is wrong with the hinges. And since the driver side door opens at a minimum ratio of 25 to 1 compared with the passenger door, that's why its so far always the driver side. Eventualy, if you own the car long enough, the same thing will happen to the passenger door hinges. I didn't notice mine at all but the dealer did.
