Can anyone give me the tire offset on an 06 xlr wheel. also, what perimitters are involved in selecting new wheels. Would a 18 x 8.5 with 56mm offset work on my car? what would be the pros and cons of selecting this wheel? Thanks, Bill:smash

Hi Bill, just took a look at my stock wheels and the size is 18 x 8 with 61 mm offset.
Sure this wheels would fit bu if you do a change why not 19`s?

I have on mine the V wheels, fits perfect, no speedo error and they look real good.
Only change what was neccessary was the TPM valves because they didn`t match my computer.

tire offset

:seeya Hi Hans, I'm staying with the stock tire, since i only have 6000 miles on them. I'm happy with the 18's, think the new wheel will look great on the car. Look forward to meeting you in Bowling green this summer. Bill (ocool)

Bill,
Here's an offset calculator that will show you gap changes based on your original wheel vs the new wheel. Just enter your current dimentions and your desired dimentions and it will tell you the change in inboard and outboard gap.
I think the standard offset for my 2004 XLR is 51mm. I ordered a set of wheels - 8.5 in. front 9.5 in. rear with 40mm offset which will give me 1/2 in further out front and an inch in the rear.

off set

Thanks for the info. The calculator works great. as it turns out, inner clearance is
1 mm less and outer position is out 11 mm. I don't see a problem with this, do you? appreciate your help. Bill (ocool)

new wheels

Sunburn, Hope to pick the new wheels up the end of this coming week. Not sure when I'll be able to get them installed. Have to finalize that this week. I'm hoping the dealer can do it for me at a resonable cost. We'll see. Otherwise, It's probably discount tire, but I'd really rather the dealer do it so it doesn't get screwed up. I'll post pictures when it's done. Bill (ocool):party

new wheels

Sunburn, the wheels are due in friday, made arrangements with the cadillac dealer to install them next Wed. boy, can't wait. they are sharp looking. you can go to the corvette forum web site and see pictures of the wheels. It's the five parallel spoke wheel in chrome normally found on the zo6. Bill (ocool):cool
