steering wheel vibration

When I drive over 80 mph the steering wheel vibrates madly. Ive had it in service 3 times and it still vibrates. they say theve balanced, aligned etc, but still!!!Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?:eek :rant

I was getting bad vibs from the exhaust grounding out.
It got much worse in the 80 mph range.
A simple readjustment corrected the problem.

since the've done the obvious, this may be something to look at,
but you will also feel this vibration through the floorboard

If it is speed dependent, I would ask for the road force variance to be checked on the tires, and also the wheel runout. If it is more through the steering wheel, it is probably fronts, if a seat of the pants, it is more likely rears. This sounds like it may be tire temp dependent. Find a dealer with a road force balancer who can match mount the tires if necessary.
