Like one of those anomaly's on Star Trek. Very much like the anomaly I had today when the gas cap light came on and found I coudn't tighten the gas cap but Tustin Cadillac had a new gas cap on it in 15 minutes.
Thanks...............Tustin
Its been 10-15 degrees outside...stabilitrak warming message comes up..goes out in about 10 minutes

Is this normal? what exactly is warming up?

This is not an anomaly, it's your car's way of saying "Hey it's too &$%*#& cold here, take me somewhere warm!"

Time to have the garage heated and stay home. I remember 12 degrees, it makes your nose hairs freeze when you breathe in!

Your right XLRAT, I read this somewhere in the manual that cold weather does effect some of the computer related things in our cars. I was just being facetious, and please don't remind me of snow and ice! I have long since removed that part of my brain for Southern California

My 04 does it too when it's less than 10 degrees.
About 10-15 minutes later I hear a chime, the yellow T/C icon goes out and "stabiltrak ready" appears.

If you look quick when starting the car, I see "HUD warming" appear on the HUD

Un-Stabilitrak

I am taking my X in Monday for something similar. Here in Washington state it does not get that cold. So no excuses from Cadillac. Basically the message I see is stabilitrak not ready. This happens sometimes when I am driving. Pretty peculiar. In any case, I will post a reply when I get my car back. Wish us luck!

It's possible your battery needs a charge or replacement. You will get strange warnings when the battery is weak.

Today I had this same message (first time) on my 2008 with 3K miles. I read these posts the other day and then it happened to me. I had just started up and driven out of a market parking lot, 10 MPH up to 25 MPH. Aprox. 90 seconds after start up, the "Stabilitrack not ready" came on. I continued at 25 MPH and quickly switched the 'traction control' off and then back on. The message went off instantly. The engine/car were at running temps, the weather was sunny and windy at 78 F. I always let the gauges and lights 'settle' before shifting or moving the car, and never 'blast off' when engine is cold. My detail guy did work on the car the day before, aprox 4 hours. Could it be low battery? The battery was 12 months old on 03/13/09, so I replaced it on 03/12/09, 850 CCA. I'm not going to read any more of anyone's problems because I don't want a transference of KARMA. HA HA!
