I believe the V has slotted brake rotors, maybe not. But does anyone have slotted and drilled rotors on the XLR? I know the Vetts have them, and theirs may bolt right on our XLR's. Would there be any fitting issues? I don't know why the XLR's don't have them anyway. Its a nice dress up of the wheel compartment.

Galen,

That's my next project...I want the rotors to have a zinc coating so they don't rust like the factory ones. Will probably get this done within the next week. I'll keep you updated. :cheers

I feel the same way about it. I don't like the rust! I wash my car often and its seems the rotors are rusty because I don't get in there and wipe them off. I'm not that ate up. You did good on the stabilizer bar so lets see what you can do on this project! :)

Got the zinc coated rotors

Too Funny,
After buying a low profile jack to get under my V and engine silver paint, then taking off every wheel and brushing the rust off and painting the edges of the rotors, about a month later I hear a ominous screeching sound from the right rear. Sure enough the brakes are out at 11,000 miles and I down shift every chance I get. My dealer agreed that it was abnormal wear and did a complete brake job with zinc painted rotors and new pads. While I'm ecstatic, it sure was a lot of work doing that job for nothing. So you all will see the new Zinc coated rotors at BG.

Elfred,

Did you buy the ceramic pads also? I'll be interested seeing them in BG.

Cubby558:cool
Hey Cubby,

I bought it all:crazy I felt like my wife does when she goes into Neiman-Marcus :glol Uh-oh.....sorry honey...anyway if these things get here on time I will install the rotors and standard pads. I want to monitor pad dust and stopping difference with new rotors prior to going to the Ceramic pads.. Scientific principle #12- one change at a time and monitor/analyze results. (Don't lose the forest because of all the trees.)

I know they will look good, cause they won't rust.:D

Elfred,
When you open the box they'll look soooo good you won't what to put them on the car. You might need to buy another set for the living room coffee table.

Hey Guys and Gals...I finally got my slotted/cross drilled rotors on today. They stop really good so far and brake dust does not seem to be a problem. Pedal feel is about the same. I will drive them about 1,000 miles and then install the ceramic pads to see the difference.

As it is raining now, I will take some photos of the car tomorrow with wheels on and on the ground.

Sunburn...you were right, they are beautiful!:thumbs Had to put on my sunglasses when I opened the box.:cool

Elfred
