Hi all, I'm new to the forum and would appreciate any insight anyone can give me. When I purchased my '04 XLR the service TPM message came on the DIC each time I started the car. The dealer replaced the "Body Control Module". In the process the driver door window regulator blew, that also was replaced. The car was returned to me supposedly fixed. On the way home from the dealer, Service TPM came on the DIC, and comes on each time I start the car and every 50-60 miles when driving non stop. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix? I have tried the magnet on the valve stem as noted in another post but can't get the left front to set. I have also noticed that the headlights do not come on when the wipers are on. Is this related to the Body Control Module, or a seperate issue.

Thanks for your help.

Love my XLR, just gettig upset having to push the reset button each time I start the car.

Your information center should tell you which tire pressure sensor is reading zero. That sensor has failed (unless you have a 'flat' tire). I understand these sensors are known to go bad.
It's also possible that you have a tire with low tire pressure.

Thanks for the input Harry. Here is some additional information. When the dealer returned the car to me the TPM indicated all four tires were at 00 pressure. Since it was late I didn't return to the dealer and instead went home. After driving a few miles the "Service Tire Pressure Monitor" message appeared in the DIC. I cleared the message and now all the tire pressures are indicated with "XX" two X's.

Tom,
I think you'll find that the monitor that gives out readings on the DIC has gone bad, usually when a tire reading is XXX, it means that valve stem has faulted. I to, have had no luck with the magnet and just take it in and get it fixed under warranty. This car is loaded with gadgets and I guess it's just normal that one or two will go bad once in a while.
Good Luck

I observed it on mine the first months I´ve had it. Mostly "tire pressure too high" shows up but the pressure was correct. It usually went away by itself and now, for the last ten months it didn`t show up again.
Same with the "engine" light, came on two times, had it to my dealer but all was OK. This message didn`t show up again!
One time "top not secure", happened only once and never again.

There are so many electronics in this car give em just a couple of months and anything will work fine.

Lights and Wipers

I had issue with the way it is described in the manual and how it actually works.

The wipers must be in the full on mode (not auto, intermittent) and then the lights do come on after 20-30 seconds opf qiper function.

I thought the lights should also come on when using the Auto (rain sensor) function, but that's not the case.

Never had any problem with the tire pressure indicator. Only thing is when you have the car running and add air, the indicator does not register for a few minutes or when you restart the car.

There are at least 3 service bulletins regarding the TPM maybe if you ask the dealer he can check these out:

SBN: 05031004
SBN: 611
SBN: 3542

I got these from NHTSA

Its fixed. The dealer replaced the main computer module, gave me two new key fobs and now the tire pressure monitor works and I don't have to get rid of that pesky message every time I start the car. Now I get to have the fun of personalizing the car again. Thanks again for all the input.
