Finally took my NM XLR in today, after 6500 miles and about 23 months. I know, I should be ashamed of myself for waiting so long.

Anyway, I had collected a long list of items I wanted looked at... all the stuff I have read about on these wonderful postings. One item on my list didn't ring a bell with me or the service advisor. My note read "bolt/nut."

Okay, no problem. I'll just come back to these boards and do a search and then call the service guy. No luck. Can't find any reference to a bolt of nut issue.

Anyone remember it or can find the reference using some other keyword?

tie rod recall

You can do a search for "Recall" but what you are thinking of was one on the tie rods.

Here is what I posted then:

The recall was for the dealer to install a new nut and washer on the lower control arms, and if required, replace the ball stud and/or steering knuckles.
My dealer only replaced the nuts "4 ea.".
So I would say the least they should do is replace the nuts.

this recall, if I recall, was VIN specific and did not involve all XLRs.

My 2004 was not a recall, it seemed to effect about 50% of the forum

Thanks so much for the quick response. I immediately called my service guy and he said my XLR wasn't included in the group of VINs affected by this, but I asked him to check it anyway, since the NM cars were made first.
