Today I tried to put the top down and the following sequence occurred:

1) Trunk lid opened.
2) Flap behind headrests went up
3) Trunk lid closed
4) Top not secure light comes on display

The control button for the roof does nothing (when pushed in either the up or down position). The trunk won't open (even when I use the key in the bumper). And the flap behind the headrests is stuck in the up position giving me no rear visibility.

Any suggestions before I take it in to the shop? Thanks.

The only time my top stuck half way up, I opened the trunk, unclipped the divider and re-clipped it in place, and the top worked properly. Seems if the partition is loose or vibrates loose, the sensors don't make contact.

Thanks. But, unfortunately, I can't get the trunk open (the motor fights me when I try to use the manual key - and the automatic trunk opener doesn't work with either the dash button or the FOB). The display did flash a "check partition" message briefly. However, I had just secured the partition a minute before I tried to put the roof down.

It's clear to me that he can't get into the trunk to do these things. I would suggest you take it to the dealer and use the old warranty trick on them. This sounds bizarre at best. Every time I push that button, it's like swimming with sharks...........Your head is on a swivel waiting for something to happen.

I have had interment problems for several months. The sequence was :
trunk lid up
panel behind headrest folds
top goes down
everything quits
I usually get out ,jiggle all the movable sections, press the down button and it completes the cycle. No problems when putting it up.

Of course, it functions perfectly when I take it for service.

Last week the jiggling failed to help and I had to drive to the dealer with a "giant spoiler" While driving the trunk lid went down and rested on the top. No damage.
The dealer read the computer codes and got factory assistance. It has worked perfectly ever since( every day for 5 days.

Boy, that sounds like fun, getting out at a light and jiggling your top while everyone is blowing their horns.
knock on wood, I put my top up or down at a light once in a while, and can't wait to have it stick:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead . I just may kill myself or dive under the car.

Harry, I'm sorry, bit I wouldn't do that or your going to forget some day and cause all kinds of problems. Simple put a very small bundge or big elastic band around each end. The rubber band may dry out and break. Doesn't look great but it worked for me on my 04 until the day I turned it in.

That sensor switch for the divider is a PITA. Simply short it out. Just be careful that nothing's in the way of the top when you put it down.

My top/trunk are getting stuck too, can't get them up now and then.
Seems the motor isn't strong enough, and a little manual lifting on it gets it going. Not possible when you're by yourself! Dealer says he can't find any info about it.
