Rendezvous for west coasters

To the powers that be. Please make this thread a sticky.
This thread will be for anyone wanting to convoy to Bowling Green in August. The following information is the locations I have chosen for motel stops
I have put a lot of effort into choosing these motel stops to and from Bowling Green since I have made this trip before, but will entertain any ideas or changes.
Kent from Phoenix has shared a great idea for a ride along old Rt 66, so we in all our wisdom have the meeting place @ 10:00 am. Leave time at 10:30 at the following location.

Mr. D'z Rt 66 Diner
105 E. Andy Devine Ave., AKA Rt 66, Kingman, AZ. 86401

(We will drive a long stretch of old Rt 66 to Saligman, AZ and then get back on the super slide to Bowling Green.)

Nativo Lodge (Southwest decor)
6000 Pan American Freeway NE
Albuquerque, NM
(Meeting with the designers of this Rendezvous, Jim & Jean and will dine and play @ the local Indian casino)

Quality Inn
7800 Henderson Blvd
Oklahoma City, OK

Roadway Inn
1300 Ingram Blvd
West Memphis. AR
(We are going to Beal Street for the best ribs in the country)

Hampton Inn
233 Three Springs Road
Bowling Green, KY

We would love to have as many as possible join in along the way.
I would suggest that we all post a cell phone in order to stay in touch,especially if someone breaks down. (God forbid)
I will bring this post up to date periodically with other information and or cell phone numbers. I understand that some don't wish their numbers listed here, but we can do this by personal e-mail if you think that would be better. I hope all can see why we need phone numbers. It's imperative for meeting up with others, lost, break downs and chit chat.

I would suggest that we all post a cell phone in order to stay in touch,especially if someone brakes down.

There's got to be something subliminal in that statement. Obviously, Bob's worried about some who might slow down (be braking) along the way. :glol :glol

Just sent it. I will most likely make the reservations for our stops along the way tomorrow. As of right now we are planning to stay in BG Satruday night as well, there are some nice roads around there I want to drive in the car on Satruday afternoon.

Meeting IN the West ???

When I read the title of this thread, I thought maybe a Rendezvous was being planned IN the West for those of us who can't make it back to Bowling Green.

Anyone know of any California gatherings of XLR owners? Would be great fun.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I looooooooooove my 2006 XLR!

Yea, but it wasn't done very well. I think they where to new at the time. I remember parking in a spot right in front of the garage door and was told that was for the owner chick, which I didn't think was to cool.

Hey Kent, do you think leaving at 6 willl get us to Kingman by 10:00 running about 90 to 95. I won't drive over 100 anymore, plus if we get caught we will miss BG sitting in some poky in AR or NM, or TX or OK, or, well you get the picture.

If you don't get caught in rush hour traffic getting out of LA you should get in around 10 AM. The key will be getting out of LA.

OK Kent, I got them both. I live south of LA and we have a clean shot at 6 am. I don't expect any traffic east on the I-15 or on I-40. We may even be there before 10 am for a quick short breakfast.

You will see Hans and family on sunday but i don't think you will see me until Monday. Unless you want to come over to Page Springs and hang out at the wineries with me :cheers

Hi Kent, you know Bob as an fast driver that`s why he was one day too soon:lol

I`ll come along with Bob, my daughter and a friend of her from Austria. My wife was in June there to visit our daughter.

Hey Hans, we probably will beat Ruth Ann to the diner. I bet she will be up at 5 just so that doesn't happen.
