I thought it would be nice to have a brick at the Corvette Museum for the Rendezvous. It would be the large 24"x 24" brick and then we could put the smaller bricks around it for each XLR. Let me know what you think.

It will depend on how many join in. the large brick is $2,500. Small ones are $100-$150.
Sounds like about $ 200 for everyone in attendence at RII. ($50 for portion of large brick and $100-150 for individual brick. Alot cheaper than the windscreen and will be seen by more people-HA-HA!! Let me know if you get it set up, I'm in also. Thanks for a great weekend, Bruce.

Well, I hate to throw in a negative, but. . .

We're talking about the CORVETTE museum--right???

They have absolutely NO products or otherwise pertaining to our beloved XLRs.

I would feel more comfortable with the idea if they somehow acknowledged we even existed.

I've nothing against Vettes I've owned many.

Just my 2c,
Floyd

The unknown future...

They don't have any XLR items to date. It is the National Corvette Museum after all. But we had our first well attended meeting there. Additionally who is to say what the future holds with the NCM and its XLR acknowledgement. I say 'up with the bricks!':thumbs

:iagree Now that they know the Professor has amassed 160,000 + miles on his 2004 XLR perhaps they'll buy it from him and put it in the museum!!

Xlr Brick?

Just curious, but did anyone ever buy a "brick" for the Corvette Museum?

As to the new construction referenced below, I can't find out the current status except the reference below on their website:

http://store.corvettemuseum.com/services/building.asp

Again, the comments pertaining to their focus is evident. We've been told that XLR's can be delivered to new owners there like the Vette's (option R8C), but as seen in all their information, Vette's rule (void of XLR). :(

No, we did not get a brick @ the NCM. I still like the idea. Kathy and I had talked to a few people @ the assembly plant about doing some kind of event bricks or plaques, but we haven't heard anything more about it. I will make a note to check into it.... thanks for the reminder. :thumbs

They have started working on the NCM expansion. It is still in the early stages. I still don't think there will be an XLR delivery program out of the museum. There is interest from Cadillac about having a delivery program in Bowling Green. Maybe @ the Old Stone Country Club.
