I received a notice in the mail two weeks ago concerning a recall to fix a signal lamp issue (which had been happening to me). This is recall number 06013. When I picked my car at at the dealership this morning, they also performed work on another recall which I was not aware of -- recall number 06516 which was described to me as being a software update -- but for what I do not know.

Does anybody else have any information?

I had the same thing done last week. I was notified by mail about the 06013 recall, and when I took the car in, they mentioned the software upgrade. I have an earlier 05, and I was able to use the 1791 code. I thought maybe the software upgrade had something to do with that, but that is not the case. 1791 still works for me. The service writer just mentioned "software upgrade".

I can't believe that your thinking the same thing I am. BTW, it does say in the manual that if the light comes on and the DIC reads, "Service stabilitrac", you have no stabiltrac on and you should drive accordingly. I wonder if the TC is off too. I know I had nothing in the rear when I did my loop de loo with the stabiltrac off.

Soon after the "software update" [last week] my top would not down. So back to Cadillac today. They hooked up their computers to check the 'codes' then called their Cadillac technical service only to find that when they installed the software update last week they were supposed to reprogram all other modules. They apologized and said they learned something new today.

Continued...

After leaving the dealer's lot with the top fixed, it rained for 2 days so I did not attempt to put the top down. But on the 3rd day, guess what - the top would not go down. Now back to the dealership for another try. It appears to me that their fix or the software update - or both - is/are volatile meaning that some incompatibility within the system is possibly erasing information.

After seeing your post on the 28th about the top not going down after the upgrade, I went to the garage and checked. Mine went down and up okay. I was out for a few hours the other day, and I really can't see any difference at all from before and after the software upgrade. Hope they are able to locate your trouble.

It's the code to watch a DVD movie while driving or at least let the passenger watch on a long trip. OK, dirver, I saw you peek at the nav scren when that naked lady ran across the screen.
It's only good on all 04's and some 05's.
