OK, so the weather in NW PA has finally broken, the snow has melted and the '07V came out of hibernation last week. It's actually being driven now and has about 200 miles on it.
I've noticed that as long as there is power applied, the rear end is quiet. However, if one takes their foot off the accelerator pedal and coasts, there's a low pitched whine emanating from the rear end that seems to happen no matter what the speed of the car is. Before I take it to the dealer for service, I'd like to know whether this is normal behavior or not. Anyone else experience this? Should I just ignore it?
TIA

I don't think its normal.

Does it occur when coasting and the tranny is in neutral?

Do a search on Rear end whine/noise

This was usually corrected by the dealer changing the rear end fluid and adding some positraction fluid.

It MAY take a couple of time but I think they have a bulleton on it.

Ours started that somewhere around 12K miles as I recall. Whine on light throttle or coast, but not on accelleration.

They tried to rebuild the rear-end, failed and just replaced the whole thing. No charge.
