The V comes with a rear so it could be done. Not sure the effect it would have on the stabilitrac system.
G
Kent, I wouldn't go there. The Vette doesn't have stabilitrak and the XLR would fight the sway bar giving all kinds of error messages on the DIC.................I think?
My Vette has it.

I think the problem lies in the fact the ride you now have was calibrated without one. If you add a sway bar, you throw off the balance from front-to-rear. Also, if you are looking to improve cornering capability, you would want to increase front-end stiffness, not rear end. Not sure if the "V" has front sway bars.

Hi Marc, next sunday I be invited by GM-Europe to drive the new C6 on a race-track for about 1 hour. With instructor - helmet and all this stuff and they promise this will be the 60 fastest minutes of my life. I´ll see and let you know:cheers

Hans

Excellent Hans, let us know what you think of the car. It really shines when you get in the corners.

As you know Marc, I´ve had a 98 01 and 02 C5 is the difference to the C5 this big?

I know I get the choice between the 6 manual and 6 auto - might go for the 6 automatic.

Hans

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the differences between the C5 and the C6. More power across a wider band, better gearing, improved ride and cornering characteristics, it’s really a marked improvement over my earlier C5.

Next week this time I`ll be able to tell the differences between the C5 an C6.

I´m not sure if they will have the Z06 there too but if, I hope I can do one lap with it.

I`ll let you know

Hans

You did a very good job on this translation and who doesn`t try it never can do it.:thumbs

After owning 3 Vette`s I know the comfort is not as with an XLR but the power of the Z06 is outstanding. 0-100 in about 8 sec - that`s it!

8000 miles on your Z06, you do a lot of driving. Too bad you couldn`t make it to the XLR-Rendezvous in Albuquerque but maybe I´ll see you for the next one, next year Aug. in Bowling Green.:cheers

I´ll let you know my impressions of the new Vette on the race track.

Bob, his German is good, little errors but that`s with my english too:yesnod

When you write German it`s the same with you, I always can read it - and this counts:thumbs

Hope you do some pictures of next Saturdays Cadillac meeting and send some to metric Hans, wished I could be there:yesnod

Hell , it's been 50 years since I used any german. I thought Imight use a little of what I remembered. I learned my german riding around germany with a outlaw biker gang back in the 60's. they only thought they were outlaws, I had the biggest bike of the group, a damed harley 1200 that dropped parts on the road all the time. spent five years over there. loved every minute of it. later.............:cheers :cheers :jester ..............................:flag

That was a long time ago and you can be proud of remembering still so much.

In these days the 1200 Harley was a monster-bike but you know at that time all US-Troopers who was stationed here had big AMERCAN cars:flag :flag :flag
Still remember the Devilles, Electras, Impalas, Galaxys, Bonnevilles of these days not to forget the later 60`s muscle cars like GTO - GS 455 - Chevelle 396/427 and so on and on.

I hope to meet you next year in the US:cheers I didn`t found not one part of your Harley:jester

Hans, if that six-speed manual is a Z51, jump on it. The Z51's have the lower rear gears so you will get a better picture of the acceleration capabiliites those who opted for the performance gearing are enjoying. Mine is an A4, but I opted for the lower rear gears. Makes a difference, believe me.

The Z51 will also have handling capabilities very near the current Z06 and better than the C5 Z06 model. In fact, most of the Z51 owners swear their overall performance is the same as the C5 Z06. Horsepower-wise, they are so close it's not worth mentioning, and the curb weight has been reduced.

OK Marc,
I think they`ll have a fleet of about 10 Vette`s over there so I`ll pick the six speed with the Z51 option. Good to know!!!

Thanks

Hans

Heck, if you get the chance, drive them all!!! But, other than the C6 Z06, the Z51 package is the quickest and best equipped for what they have in store for you. Bigger brakes (same as on the XLR-V) and all the other goodies.
