Passport SRX
Well it only took a total of about 5-6 hours to install the Passport SRX Radar/Laser/Shifter detector my XLR.
I went out a got the newest one from Passport. Its the SRX, it has radar, laser and shifter all in one system. It took some time trying to find where to mount the three sensor on the front of the car and running the wire for the ONE from the rear will take a lot more...
I found that the [laser/shifers] would mount behind the plastic covers in the lower grill but I had to cut a slot in them so that they could "see" out. The [radar] sensor I put behind the plastic cover on the passenger side. It does not have to have a hole to work. The rear sensor is mounted to the lic. plate. I may have to work on this one a little because if you mount it right side up in the upper lic. plate mounting holes it is to close to the opening where you press the button to open the trunk. If you mount it upside down "for it to work it does not make a difference up or down" it hangs down and covers the place where the state "TEXAS" is written. There are no holes in the bottom to mount it to and I did not make any at this time. I may leave it this way and see if the police say anything to me. Also I am going to talk to Passport and see if they know of some other mount I can use.
I want to install the mute button on the console but I can not find a way to get the top off it to hide the wire so for now I will not use it.
My wife and I went on a 400 mile test run and it worked great "even better then my SR1".
I took some photos if anyone want some. I would post some here but I am not sure how to do it. So just ask and I will send you some.
