hello everyone. hoping to get get some advice.

my 6 disk cd player bit the dust and i want to get it fixed instead of replacing with an aftermarket unit. so i need to send it to a audio repair shop but was wanting to know, ....

is it a bad idea to take the unit out and still drive the car without the stereo navigation, cd changer unit in the car? i am afraid that the electronic system will freak out if all parts are not connected?

any advice??

thanks guys for the replies, i was thinking to send the disk changer to an electronics repair shop instead of buying a new whole unit for 3 grand. seems the cd changer is always the first thing to go from what i can find online.

i was also considering the ipod integration but seems there is not a high grade solution without a ton of limitations.
