So I finally got the European Navigation DVD from Opel and tested it out last week end. The DVD cost me exactly 942.00 Euros and has the maps for most of western Europe (UK, France, MC, SP, Switzerland, German, Netherlands, Italy...)...

I have been very impressed with the DVD so far... I haven't been able to test whether the voice commands work with this DVD but I don't really care...

Every once in a while, the system will indicate my car being the road for a small portion but it will eventually put me back on... Other than that, graphics are beautiful and I was very impressed by how accurate the ETA function is....

Definetely almost worth the 900 Euros... :lurk

"Definitely almost worth 900 Euros"

Now if that's not damning your unit with faint praise, I don't know what is. :yesnod

The voice activated thing is gimmicky, and I never use it.

However, I'm curious. Is your new GPS touch screen?

Oops! I almost forgot my manners- Congratulations!

Aviator,

I agree with you regarding the voice activation thing.
The GPS system is the original that came on the XLR (it is a US model), all I did was order the DVD that contains the European maps as opposed to the DVD for USA and Canda that comes with the XLR when you buy it from the US...
