Sorry folks, I just realized I never introduced myself before posting :smash

My name is Kent and I picked up my XLR used from a wholesaler a couple weeks ago. This is my fourth Cadillac. Had a 97 Catera, 99 Eldo and 02 STS. Was raised in a Lincoln family but the lack of customer service on my 04 Continental put me off Ford products for good. An Aston Martin might bring me back :crazy

Sold an 04 GTO for the XLR, that Goat was the best built GM car I have owned but I missed the creature comforts that are not available on the GTO. Miss the torque on the GTO but not the rear wheel hop. Just got my Lund/Foose exhaust and that makes up for missing the sound of the Goat. Here are a couple of sloppy pics. One from last night when they brought it home from Lund and a quick one this morning as I left for work. I'm going to try to make N.M. in June.

Nice ride,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,enjoy and welcome. Love the Lund exhaust extension. Someone needs to take their camera out and hold it near the exhaust and rev the engine, and then make a file and put it on here. Just a small clip. I'm debating whether to mess with the sound of the new V I just picked up last night. Whe I get on it, it sounds really nasty and mean.

Hi Kent,
this steel blue looks great, but now......don`t get mad but do you put this, we sa here in Germany (Spritzlappen) behind the rear wheels on? Here in Germany you saw this a lot on vw, mostly beetles in the 50s and 60s but now you see this NO MORE. This doesn`t fit an XLR!!!!!!! But again, if in your opinion it looks GOOD, it`s OK with me.
The Lund exhaust looks great and as we talked before a silver pin stripe would look good on it.
One more thing: you have to replace your GTO license plate frame with one of Cadillac.
Kent, if we meet us in Albu NM would be great.
Now, I hope you not mad about me about the (Spritzlappen) - think we`re still friends.
Have a nice sunday
Harry

Harry, no offense about the mudflaps (Spritzlappen). They were on the car when I bought it. I haven't seen them on a car around here for awhile either. The car is originally from Nebraska so my guess is they are there to protect it from gravel roads.

Standby, I don't think I would mess with a V exhaust, that is a pretty trick setup. I don't have a method to get the sound recorded, maybe we can have an exhaust comparo in NM in June and have that recorded for all. What I like about the Lund is at steady speeds you don't get much volume increase, only at idle or when you step on it.

Upstate, I've seen pinstripes on a couple now, they follow the upward crease from the front wheels to above the rears. I'm still debating colors.

Congratulations Kent. Hope you can make it in June. It isn't very far from Phoenix to Albuquerque and at the end of the event you can cut over to I-10 and head back home. The details and registration form are on the forum.

pinstriping

I saw one of the Granny cadillacs at Allen's with the vinyl top and gold accents and it had pin stripping with a Caddy Crest as part of the stripping just forward of the front door line on the fender and it really looked good. You could also break it half way on the door and put your initials in there. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow when I drop my V off for major wheel surgery and caliper painting, then I'll post it to you.
