How Does it look

I'm giving some thought to ordering a wind baffle but I'd really like to hear from someone who has already installed one.
How does it look?
How does it work?
If you look at some of the older threads you will see where different people of gotten them and said they work pretty good.

About the only thing I remember is they said that the lexen scratches very easy. So when you store it you need to but it in some kind of wrapper. I am not sure why Dr. Bob does not make a custom bag to put it in.
I think Dr. Bob gives us a discount if you tell him you are from this forum.

I am waiting to see if Bob makes any more changes "looks like he just made it thicker" or if someone else comes up with one.

Just as soon as I get one someone will make one 5 time better for less money. That life... :jester

I picked up the wind so called baffel about 15,000 mile ago and it does need to be thicker as mine flexed a lot at high speed and the reduction of wind into the ****pit was not reduced that much. mabey 25% percent, better to shave the head and save $200.00 bucks. :jester
Windmeter measurements:

at 60mph backdraft is about 20-22mph with Windbaffle it is reduced to under 6mph*

*with side windows wide open
Note: with side windows up just a tiny fraction air current can be fine tuned to much lower levels.

Dr. Bob,
Is there anthing that can be put on the lexan so it does not scratch so easy?
How much thicker is the NEW one?
Does the bottom of the windscreen touch the car? If so will in scratch the car?
Do you plan to make a storage pouch for you windscreen?

What A Difference

Really a pleasure to have. Here in the Windy City it's a must!

Hi Motorboat-
1. All Windbaffles are made of expensive MR-Lexan which are coated for scratch resistance. It is used for race car and jetliner windshields.
2. The Deluxe model is 50% thicker.
3. A black edging strip sits on the roll bar deck so no scratching occurs.
4. We used to offer a vinyl pouch but found that the included bubble envelope works or a simple vinyl suit bag suffices- but it is scratch resistant.
5. A 30 day return policy guarantees satisfaction
Thanks :flag

I bought a zippered pillow case protector for mine, however once I installed it I've never removed it. It stays in place top up or down so we just forget it's there.
Easy and Secure Attachment

For all of those who called, here is a view of the easy attachment. It take a few seconds and can be left inplace top up or down.

Great for Fall Foliage Rides! :flag

I received the windbaffle today and installed it in minutes (just as advertised) took the car out for a spin and it works (just like the add says) but I'm afraid that the windbaffle is going to be returned for a refund. As we all know XLR's do not come cheap and I don't think one should have to look at crappy black velcro straps on a brown interior. My XLR has the satin nickel exterior with a light brown interior. All you can see are these god awful six black straps. Sorry, I'd rather put up with the wind, reverberation, cold, blowing hats and so on before I spoil the look that I paid so much to acquire :nono
The Deluxe model comes with NEW Velcro Cinching straps that blend exactly with the roll bars, as well as a 50% thicker Windbaffle panel with polished edges. The fabric on the straps look rich and match well and worth the change.
We've had many Deluxe models sold with NO complaints at all.
Thanks for your feedback we aim to please so you can enjoy a terrific machine even more :flag

I purchased the "New Deluxe Model" and the Velcro is Black and my interior is still brown. What's the story Bob? I only received the windbaffle on Friday! Are you telling me that there is now matching Velcro? If that's the case you'll have a very happy customer.
I did return mine for a full credit (other than shipping). Frankly, it worked well, it just looked terrible with the black velcro on the light brown roll bar. If I could have used straps that matched (perfectly) the color of the interior, I would have kept the unit
Working with Velcro Distrib.

We are working with the major Velcro distributor to try to match the straps to the new XLR rollbar colors. We have been able to have a local body shop color the straps to match the rollbar color quite well.
Thanks for very constructive criticism. :iagree
The Windbaffle has won acclaims for its effectiveness. Nearly all recent convertibles/roadsters now have clear windblockers.

We are offering Holiday special prices & will sponsor "Baffle Raffles" for regional XLR club fund raisers. (Please call Sheryl at 888-4-NO-WIND)
Have a great Christmas/Chanukah & New Years!! :party

(PS- "Standby" the WB is made of very expensive MR-Coated Lexan as in Aircraft and Race car windshields.)
