After numerous phone calls to GM Canada and with some help from my dealer,GM Canada has agreed to take my 06 XLR-V back and replace it with an 07. The only catch is that I wil have to pay some difference to the dealer....The dealer has not called to discuss with me how much it will be......any ideas on what would be fair?
I only had my car for 90 miles and less than one month when informed of the potential engine failure.. In this whole process I had the opportunity to talk to the Engineer that is in charge of HP Cadillac engines form the MIchigan plant. Very nice person and genuinely concerned...Anyway through GM Canada he has invited me to the plant for a personnal tour to see how the engines are built. It is in Michigan and I live in Alberta( 2300 miles apart) but I think Iwill make a special trip down to take advantage of his offer..Will keep you all informed of what transpires next.

Wow...sounds like Cadillac is stepping up! What was wrong with your car?

What would be fair is that you should pay the difference in any additional equipment on the new car and the difference on the taxes along with 20cents per mile.
Actually due to the low miles they should let the mileage charges go as it is a moot point. You probably ran most of those miles up going to the dealership.

There should be no dealer profit on the buyback....this is being directed by GM so the dealer is not out anything and should not be charging anything. This just makes sense as the dealer should be anxious to make sure you are satisfied. I am assuming that you purchased from this dealer.
Good luck and let us know how things work out.:flag
