I have a contact who is a financial analyst in the automotive sector for an investment concern. He has access to car production figures that get updated on a monthly basis. He says that as of 12/31/06, there have been 911 XLR's produced. If we figure that we've got roughly 5 months under our belt for this model year and annualize that number, it looks like they may only produce about 2200 XLRs this year. I wonder if sales pick up substantially in the spring time. Unfortunately, his information only lists XLRs, it doesn't break them down into regular XLRs and XLR-Vs.

To me, those VIN numbers are very disappointing.
Last year, #911 was produced at the end of September.

GM is doing the right thing by biting the bullet and getting inventory levels down.

I'm not doubting the numbers ... And inventory correction seemz to be justified. I'm just concerned GM can substantiate continuing to build a vehicle with such low sales figures.

They share the Corvette factory and a large number of vital parts. Low production numbers for XLR is not a problem and earns Cadillac more than it could possibly cost.
