I got the mild 2 wild remote device after reading about it here. I was out and about this morning and decided even though it is pretty easy, I would have my Dodge Viper tech install it. All the techs stood around while we pushed the remote and thought it was one of the coolest things they had seen.

I guess I will save the $1500 for an aftermarket exhaust. (but it does have some interior drone)

Drome..........turn it off

Caddiedrummer,
You mentioned that it had a drone, thats what the button above your head is for on the visor............turn it off when on the freeway.

I think the idea of the name is "It's mild 2 (to) wild", it's wild with the baffles wide open.
I could be wrong because I have the hard wired type that opens the baffles all the time or closed on the freeway, unless I get the RPM's up to the designed spot to open the baffles.

question on this........
If the remote is set to 'mild', will the baffels still opperate as designed?
IE will they still open up on their own when you get on it?

It is awesome isn't it?!

If your put your car in Performance Mode and upshift manually (it downshifts automatically) you've got one hot and hot sounding automobile. You can also use this to control the cabin droan. Just keep it from shifting into 5th or 6th while managing the RPM's and you won't have a problem.

My buddy's got a new ZO6 and while it may be faster, I'll take the V anyday. And that's before I get to put the top down, which of course he can't do.

Enjoy.

$75 and three minutes?

I just installed the Mild 2 wild myself, it took 3 minutes and let me tell you, "IT IS AWESOME"

Best $75 I spent on the car.....
What kind of sound are you hearing when you jump on it? The woosh of the supercharger, a deep exhaust note, or something in-between?

Best price I've seen is $99; can you post a link ? Is this really a three minute job? And Cadillac won't void any warranty work over this?

I've sorta given up on Corsa coming through.:cry

$3.99 version

For the record...............The sound is exactly what you hear when your baffles open up when you get on it hard. The only difference is you are electing to have that sound all the time unless you hit the button and turn it off.
I have posted pictures and a description about a year ago of how I interrupted the hot lead in the trunk, where the module is for the baffles, and ran a wire to a rocker switch in my center console.
Total cost was a rocker switch for $3.99 and about an hour to make it look professional. No it won't void your warranty, but it will throw codes into your computer that the baffles are not working as they where designed to work.

Nope Dunerider,
just the V comes with the baffles in the exhaust. For a good sound out of this N*
engine put the Corsa system on, you`ll love it.

Corsa is good, but put a B&B with no mufflers on and you'll think your driving a funny car. Go to their website, then choose Chevelet, Corvette, and click on sound bite. It is a instant love connection.

I have the original one that I did before the mild 2 wild came along. It cost about $5.00.

Back of center console. This small piece of plastic pops off with a little pressure so you can make a hole in it on the work bench. Make sure you put the hole in a position that won't interfer with the back of the switch when installed.

Under trunk mat in left corner. The white box with the arrow pointing right is the module that controls the baffles. Cut the red wire, take a simple lamp cord and connect one end of the two wires to each end of the red wire and fish it up to the console and attach it to a rocker switch. (Radio Shack) Mine as worked fine for over a year and a half.
It's probably all of a one hour project even if you have to left hands.
Good Luck
Bob

the mild to wild is a remote system. the receiver plugs into the baffel module in the trunk compartment and is opperated by a supplied remote control or can be programed to the home link buttons on the visor.

Hey, if anyone says you forget things, tell them to call me. I can verify you have the memory of an elephant.
Actually, you don't have to remove the console. It's just one piece of plastic near the rear inside the lid of the junk box in the center console. It snaps out.
BTW, my next project is to drill a hole in one of the a/c ducts, insert a plastic tube and run it down the console into cup holder area. My air is always on and even if I go to a cold climate, I can put coco in the cup holders and keep it warm. I just love these projects.
If that doesn't work, I'll go buy a Chrysler Le baron for $15K with hot/cold cup holders.
Bob
OK Standby, now don't forget to put he insulation back where you found it under that console. I don't want to hear that your iced tea is getting hot in the "V"!!

Regards
