I thought I would start up a thread to help plan the caravan for all us in the Midwest meeting up. Ben and Galen are meeting up with Chad and I in KC around 8 am and we will head out to St. Louis. This should put us in St. Louis around 11:30; we are planning on stopping to eat lunch. We will then head to Mt. Vernon (about an hour drive) to meet up with Kevin, Bob, and Larry at about 1:30. Then onward to BG, which should put us in town by 5.

Do we have any plans or ideas on where to meet at in Mt. Vernon? Also anyone else that would be interesting in joining the caravan feel free to jump in!

caravan from Florida

We'll be coming up from Florida on 75, hopefully getting thru Atlanta after lunch, around 2/ 2:30 Wed. afternoon. Anyone coming from Ga. and north Fl. might pick us up around Tifton Ga. We'll probably spend the night in North Ga. and arrive into Bowling Green Thur. around lunch time. We'll have our frs radios on,
channel 4-6 for anyone wanting to join in. Let us know if we need to share cell numbers? We can e-mail them if you need to. Bill (ocool)

Gents, I found a gas station on the east side of the stadium and the south side of the interstate. Tim is this the one you had in mind? Anyhow it is exit 9 and here is a pic - I guess I will have to upload from home instead of work... oh well.
That is exactly the one I am thinking of, should be right off the interstate and every easy to find; I think we know how to find each other we will be the ones in the XLR :D . Now we just need to find a place to meet in Mt. Vernon. :thumbs

North Carolina Caravan

Update on our route.

We will be leaving Raleigh, NC at approximately 2pm and heading west on I-40 through Asheville. I-40 to Knoxville where we will overnight. Then north on I-75 to Rt-63 to Rt-52 (Scenic roads) on to I-65 North. Then on to Bowling Green.:thumbs

We will have three cars, XLR, XLR-V and a STS-V. Anyone wanting to join us is welcomed. Just PM me and we can swap cell #s and set up meeting locations.

Hope you all arrive safe...:flag See you in BG.:cheers

Regards,

Elfred

Take Exit 95, Rt 15 in Mt Vernon, off of I57/64. Take a Right (west) at the top of the ramp for 0.1 miles. There is a McDonalds and a Marathon there. How about meeting there?

Gents,

We all have cell phones if needed. I picked up a pair of Motorola T9500XLR talkabouts and they are on the charger. They have a 25 mile (when all the stars align) range. If anyone else in the mix has them I plan on being on channel 2-8 (xlr28, get it? :crazy). At least two of our cars will have them. I think the channels are standard across Motorola at least. Just let me know.

Ben.
