Today I`ve made a high speed test drive for my yesterday installed E&G grille.
Like 1_XLR said, that there will propably much air-flow which can effect the hood didn`t happened.
I had my XLR up to 280 kph (174 mph) and the hood was the same stable as if I would drove 80 kph (50 mph) no rattles or shakes from wind.
Even, this grille doesn`t make any kind of wind noises on high speed from the mesh. It`s just all as I would have my stock grille on but the look of my car is now much, much nicer.:thumbs

Flash to pass

Hey Harry,
We talked about this before also I think but can you "flash" to pass with your lights on your export car?
The way the cars are made here in the states they say we can not make our lights flash because they will not light up fast enough. But you guys use this all the time on the autobahn to pass I think. Are your cars made any different?

Hi Blaise,
flash to pass works on all CTS`s - STS`s and XLR`s with xenon light and it have to work or you wont get a registration for the car. This is law in Germany.
Also my XLR must have the bright red fog lights on the back, but they`re integrated in the rear light-housings.
Speedo is changed to kph (it goes to 260 and the higher numbers I can only see in my HUD). Motor management is changed, because on mine is no limiter. The rest I think is the same as yours.
I`ve owned 3 C5 Vette`s and I know the export-models had an additional transmission-oil-cooler.

Harry,
When you "flash" what headlight come ON? I was told our lights could NOT be made to work that way.
I have an 04, I am not sure if the newer ones work different. I wonder if the wiring is different or the headlight assy. is different in YOUR car. Obviously something is different...

Blaise,
I just had my wife coming with me out to the garage to see what bulb it is:

It is the lower xenon bulb which flashes.

Next time I see my dealership I´ll ask the mechanics, maybe they know what to do so you can have it on yours too.

Thanks Harry,

That would be a big help.:thumbs :thumbs

Then maybe I can get it to work or order the parts to make it work.
I think its better to use the light instead of the horn most of the time.

I will also call my dealer now and see if he can find out just in case your can't but I think yours will be able to tell us before ours will.
