Hi everybody,
I definately want to change the front grill and am considering several options.
- Getting the Lund Chrome Grill (USD $1895.00)
I spoke to them earlier today and they told me that it is actually the same stock grill that they chrome. So I guess I could have it done myself on my own grill. Plus, 1985 USD is a lot and it certainly would be a pain to ship to Europe (VAT, delay...).. I still think 1985 USD is a lot for the originall plastic grill chromed and I am worried it might not look as nice a a real chrome grill...
- Choming my own XLR Grill
This would probably be cheaper and easier than getting the Lund. Only, it is difficult to find place to do that in France (legislation on chrome using sulfure is very strict) and I am not sure whether the result would be satisfying...
- Using chrome paint on my own XLR Grill
Have you guys seen any of those total chrome look cars in magazines? So far, I have seen a M3 (Canadian owner) and an SL (SEMA Show). They look good on paper, but I have no idea how chrome paint look in real life... This might the most viabl option since if I don't like, I can always paint the grill back to silver....
- Paint my XLR grill in black to match the car
Of course, I would let the Cadillac logo stand out, but the horizontal bars would match the body color (i.e. German BMW tuning)...
- Go for the XLR-V mesh grill
I have seen several of those and I think i recall my dealer telling me that they would have those ready for install...
Anyway guys, let me know what you think....
