Hey I emailed you also. if you could give me some advice on LS swapping my XLR. I've done many LS swapped including an xj jeep and many classic cars. I'm wondering specifically about motor mounts, torque tube, bell housing, etc. The ECM looks standard gm stuff and shouldn't be an issue to tune. Thanks so much.

My 06 V model has new problem, failed AZ emissions test, did a small repair and no more check engine codes. I can not get state to recheck yet because of a block that happens until a unknown # of miles are driven after the repairs. All makes have different amount of miles/time? Anybody know the # of miles this mode needs to reset the computer. A cadillac dlr. did not want to take the time to look the number up for me. Tks. in advance. Robert Mayer. The car was left running/idle in a engine bay for 1.5 hrs. and it did get hot with a low coolant light. The repair facility thinks it may be a head gasket, but no outside evidence of coolant leak. The repair person says not worth replacing that I would need a new engine. Any advice/comments?

Thats not good for a car to run that long not moving unless you have a large fan to blow air over the engine. i would look for the coolant leak to start. All it takes is to pressurize the raditor cap and either see the leak or it will push water into a cylinder that will steam or skip when it starts. You can also get a chemical test to see if exhaust is getting into the cooling system. Either way the car running hot can damage the head and or headgasket. If it was in a shop when that happened, any damage would be on them. As far as mileage on a test usually three to five on and off driving cycles are all that is needed to confirm a code is gone.

Actually it is my mechanic and his staff that has the smarts. He is a long time corvette mechanic now doing Lamborghini repairs.

Car goes to the shop on the 13th. Have all the important parts to begin the LS427 install. Also plan a show quality paint job after suspension mods but before the engine install. Looks like it might be June before we are done.
