Lets also start a list of Caddilac dealers (city and state) to stay away from. These are those typical lying, dishonest dealers that give the buisness a bad name.
I feel a need to throw in a word of warning on this thread...It is only because everyone on the forum has been so helpful in the past that I mention this and it is only my personal opinion.
Be very careful about mentioning specific dealers in a negative way. As most of us know, many dealers "lurk" on this forum. Without proof of what we say those dealers may take (legal) offense at being mentioned.
The "reputable dealer" thread is a wonderful idea in that it only mentions those dealers with which we've had good experiences. If you think about the many magazines that do reviews, most only print the good reviews. There are a number of reasons for that, but one of them is the threat of slander suits by a manufacturer.
Anyway just my two cents / personal opinion. I don't want to see our sponsor or anyone else get hurt by something they post here.
As long as the posts are FACTUAL.....the TRUTH is an absolute defense.
And as someone who has been running my own chatboard about the domain business for years.....I can tell you I have no exposure at all for what is posted.
Matter of fact the worst thing I could do would be to censor the posts which goes against free speech.
Besides a dealer or Cadillac would like morons for suing their own customers.
I only wish this both of these lists were available when I bought my xlr. :-(
Fair enough...I guess I wasn't really concerned with what had already been posted, just the direction the thread might head. And, I would never censor, just suggest...
BTW, didn't someone call a dealer a "moron" in another thread? So, maybe they would sue a customer
You're right, most if not all Cadillac dealers would not act like the RIAA.
Building a hate list is one thing but doing in a public forum like this maybe asking for trouble.
While Webfather is stating "As long as the posts are Factual....the TRUTH is an absolute defense." he had better have at least 1700 confirmed, and very unreproachable witnesses to substantiate such terms and "....all dealer are morons...." not to mention a number of other statements that collectively are not fact but a gross mischaractorization. Statements of fact do not use the term such as "....they are all...." or making another global negative reference without any basis.
If you really want to make a difference then take your specific and very documented events to your local better business bureau or to your State's Authorney General and do some good. Don't just sit there screeming everyone's a moron because that is just was a moron would. i.e., get a brain
Did I miss something or did the first ammendment get cancelled?
Dealers have no problem lying to our faces and trading deals on us so for those who choose to run their buisness this way we now have a simple forum to list these dealers on.
Anybody opposed to this thread is either a dishonest dealer or an attorney. You dont have to participate if you dont want to.
This is what is simply called referrels - whether good or bad.

The real problem here is that the MSRP is just a guide, not an absolute and you always have the option to walk out the door.
Any dealer as the right to sell his merchandise for what ever he wants. The BBB can only help if the dealer cheats ot lies to you, amd same for the AG of your state.
Rather than carping about everything could you take the capital letters out of your inputs along with you bias and tell us how to fix what you think is wrong. If you don't have anytjhing constructive to offer to fix the problem then........
Carping does not fix anything unless you are willing to provide an alternative. All I see from you is carping and the fax you like carping. How about being pro active. Keeping in mind that the vast majority of the dealers are good and your view is very....whatever.
These are the guys that wouldnt even unlock the car so I could look inside when I was in the show room dressed down on a saturday. I was in last week in my business attire and the practically bent over for me. Disgusting. Even after I called and voiced my complaint to the owner they couldnt even bother to have someone from management call me back.
