I just got my blue XLR back today. As some of you know, my car was not recognizing my key fob. Well, they had to replace the module and the both key fobs. I was told that in some areas it will not recognize them due to power lines, radio frequencies?, and other things that cause interferance?. As far as the problem with my voice recognition, I don't know what they did, but it seems to be better, at least I got it to recognize "Casino", more then 1 time. As for the ashtray thing, well, we finally have that figured out as well, you pull up the cup holders and then take the ashtray out, then put the ashtray back in and then put the cup holders back as well.
I have been trying to post a photo with this, but I don't think that it is going to show up, darn it!!!!!!!
Hey, I never said I was a great speller, and sure do wish that we had spellchecker like on the POA, that's Prowler On Line!

Jeanszoo, thank you! I have the same issue with the keyless system. The failure happens in many locations, so that eliminates non-XLR interference. And, yes, radio frequency interference (RFI) could cause issues like that by corrupting the radio signal that is sent to/from the fob.

Thanks again for the info. I'll pass it along to my service advisor.

You are quite welcome alk3997! I am glad that I could help.
I must tell you that I am glad, believe it or not, that this happened, as when I had to take the second keyfob over to the dealer, I took my pink '55 convert. over and probably found someone who could work on the door hinges for me. :thumbs :flag

Key fob's

What is going to happen if I have my key fob on me and me wife has hers in her purse? We both have the car set to different things for it to do "seats, radio, etc." what one will it see? #1 first?
Will it hurt anything to have both inside the car? She likes to carry hers just in case something goes wrong.
If you don't push a button on the trans. I think it goes to the last time someone did push a button and then uses those setings. So just caring them should not make a difference.. Right?

We have had both keyfobs in the car, and it seems to recognize the one that is in the driver's seat. Don't ask me how because I have no idea, but it does, without any problems.

Yes, that has been my experience also. It usually recognizes the driver's fob... but a couple of times it recognized the other one before replacing the battery. That took care of it.

Gang,

From inception we have found that the fob in the driver's seat takes priority. However, the there has been a time or two that when making entry into the vehicle the settings are a function of which fob approached the driver's side of the vehicle first and a time lapse played a part as well.

That is quite interesting! I don't think that we have had that problem, butthen again we have only taken both fobs in the car a couple of times. It should be quite interesting when we take our trip to Califoria with both XLR's as we will be taking both fobs for both cars at the same time. If myspellih or other weird things in this reply please excuse me but I had hsand surgery on my right hand yesterday and I'm not quite back to beeing mer and I'm r handed.
