With 07's coming off the line in a month and dealer lots filled with 06's - I think you will see HUGE discounts on 06's real soon.

Its their own fault for demanding sticker on these cars when buyers were there (like me)

GM has always stood fo great Value (vette, Z06 etc) and this car has a huge built in markup but is over price by 11K - at 89K this would be a great value and still 20K more than a base XLR actually sells for.

BLOOD BATH......

Agreed. Totally out of touch with reality, the car is 20 grand overpriced. A perfect example of how GM has gotten in the trouble they have. And that's before their clueless dealers screw up the marketing, and then prove once again, they can't service a car like this, either. Of course, having paid 100 grand, if you have some difficulty, you can contact the "GM Executive Office", where another clueless dork won't differentiate you from a Cobalt buyer, and will then carry out their corporate mandate to make sure no one in authority ever hears about field issues. Thus, secure in the belief they can do no wrong, the corporate geniuses will probably put 10% on the sticker for '07, ensuring these find their way to rebate heaven, or rental fleets.

WHERE have you seen a NEW '06 for $69k??? I agree The "V" is over priced based on the gas cost issue and launch timing but it is more like $10k I would think.

I am having trouble passing $1,700 to Uncle Sam for the gas gussler tax listed on the sticker too.

Regards

Here is a brand new XLR 2006 on ebay for 69K.

You can buy one for 72K all day long anywhere. This is a good deal.

Where did you hear/see that the '07 V's are coming next month?

I have another '06 V on order for delivery in August - nobody said anything to me about how '07's are coming out before then.

Deadringer, as far as I know(I´m German) the plant in Bowling Green is closed for 7-10 days in June and after this closing all producing new Vette`s and XLR`s are 2007 models. So the first 2007`s should be at the dealers beginning July.

2007's start rolling off line week of June 27.

Harry,
No way, they have to get rid of the inventory out there first, they can't can't get rid of the black ones. When they do then they will release the 2007's around October. Either that or they will have to give the black ones away. Know wait a minute you guys that like black ones.....................my preference happens to be platinum or infra red and it seems to hold true with buyers.

Dealer lots are "not" full. There is only one XLR-V available in all of New England and if you include New York and New Jersey there are "zero" Infrared or Platinum XLR-Vs available in the entire northeast. This is hardly a glut.

Also, the sooner 07s hit the street the happier I'll be. Less than 400 of these cars have been built to date, due to a partial production year. It may not mean much now but down the road this will be a factor with resale due to rarity.
I live in Coonecticut, which I think passes for New England. A quick search of XLR-V availability produced 50 at what the GM Power Buy site described as "nearby dealerships". While they appear to have been a little overenthusiastic (or wrong) about Raven Black, as a color, that seems to be most of what is unsold. I don't know how else you could describe that number of unsold cars, as a percentage of what has been built, especially in such a concentrated area, as anything but a glut. Similar searches came up with the same condition in other parts of the country. No car, with that kind of unsold inventory, so soon after its introduction, has ever been a hit. How do you spell A-L-L-A-N-T-E?

Deelmakur, now please don`t forget one thing, that`s a $ 100.000 car!!!!!

Do you realy compare the XLR V to an Allante?????

Hans

FWIW: My Dealers Current Inventory:

XLR-V's Black 2 Unsold 2 Sold.

XLR's 5 Unsold, 1 Platinum, 1 Red, 1 Black, 2 don't know

Why did cadillac do such a bad job wiht the black on the V. Why didnt they ppick a goo color and why dosent the Xlr come in thw white pearl. I thinkk it would look really good.

Ok, Adam, don't take this personal, but it's time you used spell check or at least proof read your posts. Don't get mad, just read some of your posts. I realize your only 15 or 16, but now a days we have spell check, and I'm one that needs it as bad as you do.

Yes, Connecticut does qualify as New England but you would never get me to admit that. I've tried several zip codes in Connecticut, to include Hartford and Stamford and I come up with "zero" XLR-Vs in the entire state. The nearest are New York and New Jersey and it only comes up with the same handful of cars, regardless of the zip code, as stated in my previous post. Maybe you can post a specific description of how you come up with a list of 50 XLR-Vs, as "nearby dealerships," using GM Buy Power, with a Connecticut Zip code. If you can demonstrate this then maybe I wont make you out to be the fraud/lame that you appear to be.

Hey. let us get the 2 XLR V`s Black then all are sold.

I´ll take the one with shale interior!:glol

Before designating me as fraudulent, try figuring out how to use the Internet. I simply went to GM Buy Power and inserted a Stamford, CT zip (06907). Up came Suburban Cadillac in Stamford, which had none, however, if you look, there are tabs which allow you to search within a reasonable proximity. Hitting that gave me 50 from Maryland to Maine, none more than 4 hours drive from my location. For example, the Waterbury, CT, dealer has an unsold red one. That leaves another 49 to peruse, if you think you can count that high (couldn't resist).:jester
In Bob's note to Adam, I assume "your" is short for "you are".

bumbleent
my 50 mile radius out of orange county gave me 25 dealers with 26 cars.
8 of them had none...two had 3....the rest 1 or 2.

I'd say they're in pretty good shape.....gotta have 'em to sell them and the '07s will take months to fill the pipe lines

about 50% were black
