I was reading some comments about the XLR at the Car & Driver Forums and came across this comment:

"I'd say the comment in the news last week where the XLR will not be evolved to another future model says how the car is doing in the sales race. ".

Does anyone know if this is true?

The fact that it shares parts and plant with Corvette will likely keep it alive through years of bad sales. Simple fact that as a head-turning "halo" car, Cadillac just couldn't find a more effective and efficient way to market their marque.

XLR Sales are up, Competition Down.

In complete contrary to your thoughts, through August 31st. our XLR Roadster is up 16% in the Ultra Luxury Convertible segment. Where as our 3 competitors the Mercedes SL500, Lexus SC430 & Jaguar XK8 are DOWN 15% for the same time period.

All I can say is stay tuned for 2010!

After spending 3 days at Bondurant with the Classic XLR, XLR-V SL500, SC430, XK8, Corvette, Z06, I took over 160 pics. I need to sort them out. Once done I
I have a section on the site & I will let everyone know.

Hi Volume, Not a Chance

XLR I FL said:
According to GM's Chairman when the XLR was announced it was not intended to compete with the other brands on volume.

Has that strategy changed??
There are no plans on increasing the XLR volume by any great degree even if the demand is there. The XLR volume will increase for a greater world wide consumption.

There first 2 years we produced 8,414 roadsters combined. The build will very by demand so there is never a huge supply of XLRs on the ground.

With 2 new models coming out in the next 12 months, continued excitement is in the air!

Regarding the photos of the XLR at Bob Bondurant High Performance Driving School, Im very sorry you find it necessary to rush something that is so important. Professionally speaking, not to have the photos cropped, sized and bordered prior to going up on the site would be unjust.

If you have spent any amount of time on the www.Cadillac-XLR.com site for the last (4) years, you would know I would not just throw images up for viewing.

Thank You
Allen
